Navy Have Arrested Ten Local Fishermen While Engaging In Illegal Fishing in Northern Seas

The Sri Lanka Navy Personal have )arrested 10 Local fishermen last evening while engaging in illegal fishing  by using banned fishing nets in the seas of  Kathiraweli (Northern Province) and  Padeithurai according to the Navy Sources.

Accordingly Navy Personal have arrested 08 Local Fishermen in the seas of Kathiraweli  with  banned nets the sources have stated.

The arrested fishermen and banned fishing nets were handed over to the Vakrai  Police for future course of action.

Meanwhile Navy Personal have arrested another two Sri Lankan fishermen with a banned mono filament fishing net and a traditional boat (wallam) and handed over them and equipment to  Fisheries inspector in Mannar.
