A Supervisor Attached To Kaluthara Pradeshiya Sabha Was Arrested Over Sexually Assaulting Underaged Boys
A supervisor attached to Kaluthara Pradeshiya Sabha was arrested by the Kaluthara Crimes Division officers
at weniwelpitiya area yesterday (16) over sexually assaulting several underaged boys it has been reported.
The arrest was made as per the complaints received by Presidential Secretariet from the villagers with video footages of the sexual assaults done by the suspect police have stated.
Meanwhile Police are conducting a seperate investigation to arrest the persons who have taken video footage of the assaults.

Proposed Central Expressway To Be Completed By The End Of 2019
The proposed Central Expressway which will be
constructed from four stages is due to be completed by the end of 2019 according to Minister of Higher Education and Highways Lakshman Kiriella.
Accordingly under the first stage 37.3 Kilo Meters from Kadawatha to Mirigama will be constructed by a Chinese Firm and second stage 39.3 kilo meters from Mirigama to Kurunagala will be constructed first time by the local contractors.
The third stage 34.1 Kilo Meters from pothuhara to galagedera to be constructed by a Japanese company and the fourth and last stage of the Expressway which is 53.8 Kilo Meters will be constructed by a chinese company.
There will be 14 interchanges in the Expressway and the Road Development Authority has already allocated a land for the project Minister Kiriella has stated.

A Person Who Cheated Nearly Rs.40 Million From Several Persons Arrested And Remanded
A person who cheated money from several persons

The Foreign Employment Bureau had previously filed more than 275 cases in courts against the suspect for money cheating and he had avoided courts since last two years according to reports.
The suspect was remanded until 25th of November after being produced before Colombo Magistrate today.

Special Police Task Force Personal Have Recovered A Stock Of Fire Arms And Ammunitions In A Tree Hollow In Pothuvil Area
A stock of fire arms and hand bombs hidden in a tree hollow at Udumbikulam area in Pothuvil (In Eastern Province)have been recovered yesterday (15) by the Special Police Task Force Personal.
Accordingly during a raid carried out by the Special Police Task Force Personal as per an information received two magazines ,a micro pistol,six hand bombs, seventy three nine mili meter ammunitions were recovered according to reports.
Special Police Task Force Personal had handed over the stock of recovered fire arms and hand bombs to Pothuvil Police for further investigations.
The stock believed to be hidden by LTTE Rebels during the war period.

A National Plan To Address The Sexual And Gender Based Violence In Sri Lanka Has Been Launched
A national action plan to address Sexual and Gender based violence was jointly launched today(16) by the Ministry Of Women and Child Affairs and United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) in Colombo.

Eleven "Ava" Crimes Group Suspects Have Been Further Remanded
Eleven suspected members of the "Ava" crimes group who were remanded over terrorizing several parts in Jaffna District had been further remanded today(16) by the Colombo Magistrate until 30th of November.

The former Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG) Anura Senanayake and Former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who were arrested and remanded over the killing of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen have been further remanded until 30th of November by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris today(16).
The two former higher rank Police Officers were further remanded after being produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate today.
Meanwhile Additional Solicitor General Dilan Rathnayake had informed the court during the proceedings of Thajudeen's case that a special investigation is under way regarding the phone calls received by a friend of former Rugby Player few hours prior to Thajudeen's death.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate has today(16) granted bail to National Freedom Front Leader Wimal Weerawansha's brother Sarath Weerawansha who was remanded over the charges of misusing state vehicles.
