Several Professions Attached To The Govt,Had Launched An Island Wide Token Strike Against Increasing Taxes

Several Professions  attached to the Government   including Government doctors Dental surgeons and  Government executive officers had launched a one day island wide token strike today against increasing government taxes imposed on them .

Accordingly Government doctors ,Dental surgeons and Government executive officers had launched the one day island wide token strike from 8 a..m this morning and a rally will be held at Hyde park in Colombo this evening with the participation of professionals the trade unions attached to professionals had stated .

Meanwhile Employees in Sri Lanka Ports authority have launched a work to rule campaign today and the Bank employees too are due to launch a strike from this noon  opposing the increase of government taxes 

A Father And Daughter Had Drowned In A Kumbukkanaru River

 A Father and and his daughter had accidentally fallen to a River (Oya)at Kumbukkanaru in Pulathisipura ,Polonnaruwa (North Central Province)last morning (07) had  drowned and died according to Police,

The incident occurred when the father who was a teacher in profession had visited to see the Kumbukkanaru River along with his three children during school holidays and a daughter had slipped and fell to the river when she is trying to take a selfie near the bridge area it has been revealed .The father who had tried to save the life of his daughter had alos drowned along with the daughter according to police .Police with the help of divers and residents of the area had launched a mission to rescue the father and daughter but had recovered their bodies after four hours .

Two Police Constables Were Interdicted Over Visiting A SPA Without Permission

A Higher official of the Department of Police had interdicted two Police constables who had visited a "SPA '' located at Peliyagoda area (Western Province)during their working hours to get the service of two females there .

The assistant superintendent of Police(ASP)  in Kelaniya had interdicted the two Police constables as they had visited the SPA without getting permission from the higher authorities  it has been reported .The two Police constables  attached to the Peliyagoda Police headquarters had fled away when the team of police officers attached to the Peliyagoda Police headquarters had surrounded the SPA in Peliyagoda accordance to the information received to it's hotline 119.
