Due To The Kandakadu Corona Cluster Sri Lanka's Total Number Of Corona Positives Had Increased To 2350

Due to the Kandakadu Corona cluster

and few Corona positive foreign arrivals reported in the country yesterday (09) and this morning (10) the total number of Corona positives reported so far had risen to 2350 according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Altogether 258 Corona positives were reported from last evening up to this morning.

Accordingly 61 corona positives (57 from Kandakadu Cluster and four foreign arrivals ) had been reported yestetday and 197 (196 from Kandakadu Cluster and 01 from Sri Lanka Navy )had been reported today up to now .

Out of the 258 Corona positives reported yesterday and today four positives were arivals of Iran, Qatar, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Navy (one each ).

At the moment 360 Corona positives are being treated in Government Hospitals

All Steps Had Been Taken To Prevent Spreading Corona Virus In The Community Due To Kandakadu Cluster -Government Information Department

All the Steps had been taken to prevent

Community transmission of Corona virus due to the Corona cluster emerged from Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center in Polonnaruwa the Government Information Department has announced.

At present contact tracing is being implemented in search of those who had left recently from Kandakadu Center after being Rehabilitated over drug addiction and those closed relatives who had visited the inmates st the center .Also to check whether the Corona Virus is Spreading in certain areas where the female instructor who had tested positive for Corona virus yesterday has visited ,PCR tests will be performed it has been stated.

However no one in Welikada Prison where the Corona positive Prison inmate has been located after returning from Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center are tested positive for the virus so far .
All the 315 inmates and staff at Welikada prison tested for Corona virus found as negative .

253 Persons Attached To Drug Rehabilitation Center in Kandakadu Had Tested Positive For Corona Virus -The Center Converted Into A Make-Shift Hospital To Treat The Positives

A total of 253 persons ncluding a

female instructor had been tested positive for Corona virus both yesterday(09)and today (10)at the Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center in Polonnaruwa where the corona positive Welikada Prison inmate had been rehabilitated according to the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe.

Out of these Corona positives 250 are among 605 Persons at the Drug Rehabilitation Center who are currently being quarantined .The 27 yeat old female instructor was identified as a Corona positive at her house in Marawila ,Chilaw area.

All the 253 Corona positives identified both yestrrday(57) and today (196)are being treated at the Drug Rehabilitation Center as it has been converted to a make-shift Hospital from today it has been revealed .

Meanwhile the female instructor attached to Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center who was tested positive for Corona virus yesterday, got leave and went to her house in Marawila in a Cab belonging to the Center and three buses according to the authorities. However the instructor had worn a face mask during her journey.

When she had reached her home she had been suffering from Corona symptoms like high fever and cough and she had taken medicine for the illness from a private dispensary near her house it has been revealed .

This Corona cluster at the Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center had been created due to the Welikada Prison inmate who had tested positive for the Corona Virus few days back after being rehabilitated at the center over drug addiction since March.
