Reduction Of 25 Essential Drugs Is Being Delayed Due To The Opposition Of National Chamber Of Drug Importers -Health Minister
The reduction of 25 Essential Drugs
including expensive Cancer Drugs is being delayed due to the opposition of National Chamber Of Drug Importers according to Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Although the National Chamber Of Drug Importers had opposed the move will reduce the prices of 25 selected Drugs as planned soon the Minister has stressed during a meeting held at Horana on Saturday (11).
Minster has also stated that the Drug Importers are going to take a legal action against the price reduction ,However he is not afraid of that .
Health Minister had earlier announced that the prices of 25 Essential Drugs will be reduced in July .
By reducing the prices of Expensive Cancer Drugs government can save Rs.7.7 billion when importing them the Minister has stated.

A Fire Erupted In A Reserve At Vavuniya Had Destroyed A Large Acres Of Land
A Sudden fire erupted in "Ausadapitiya" reserve at Irattaperiyakulama in Vavuniya last evening (12) had been
doused by the Fire Brigade attached to Vavuniya Urban Council and Irattaperiyakulama Police officers after a long struggle.
The fire had destroyed more than 100 acres of land belonging to the reserve and the fire spreads rapidly throughout the reserve due to strong winds and dry weather prevailing in the area it has been reported.
Authorities believes the fire may have erupted in the Reserve due to lighting of fire by chena cultivators.

A Person Was Arrested With A Locally Made Firearm
A 45 year old person had been arrested
by the Police officers attached to Crimes Prevention Unit of Tangalle Division yesterday (11)at Nalagama area in Tangalle with a Locally made firearm in his possession.
The suspect who is a resident of Beliatta area had revealed to the Police during questioning that he had kept the firearm in his possession for his own safety as he is giving money to others on interest.

A Person Has Died Due To A Fire In A Building At Badulla
A 46 year old person has died due to a sudden fire erupted in a Three storied business establishment selling motor spare parts at Coco watte road in Badulla this morning (12).
The critically injured who had been in a nearby Business Establishment had admitted to the Badulla General Hospital with serious burn injuries and later had succumbed to his injuries it has been reported.
The deceased who was a resifent of Badulla had received injuries after the fire spreads in to his office from the nearby building.
The fire had been doused completely by the Fire Brigade and tri forces.

Ten Females Were Injured Due To A Vehicle Collision
Ten female Garment Factory workers attached to a Private Garment Factory in Monaragala had been injured and
hospitalized after a Three Buses they were travelling in colliding with each other at Mahagodayaya area on Wellawaya -Monaragala main road last evening (11).
The injured were admitted to the Buttala Provincial Hospital and later transferred to the Monaragala General Hospital for further treatment.
Buttala Police had arrested the drivers of the three vehicles who were charged over reckless driving and they are due to be produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate Court.

Six persons including four small Children have been injured and hospitalized due to a Van-Tipper Truck Collision at Kumaragama Junction on Balangoda-Kalthota main road this morning (12).
The injured have been admitted to the Balangoda Base Hospital for treatment.The condition of a injured female is critical it has been revealed.
The incident occurred when a Van travelling from Kalthota to Balangoda had collided with a Tipper Truck travelling from Balangoda to Kalthota area and both vehicles had crashed in to a nearby wall belongs to a House afterwards it has been revealed.
The accident occurred when the Tipper Truck had attempted to over take a Bus and as a result the Truck had collided with a Van arrived in opposite side according to Balangoda Police.
The injured have been admitted to the Balangoda Base Hospital for treatment.The condition of a injured female is critical it has been revealed.

Railway Unions Had Called The Island Wide Strike
Railway Unions have ended their five
day old Island Wide Continuous strike this noon (12)after the discussions held with President Maithripala Sirisena at his residence in Polonnaruwa according to the Unions.
As president Had promised to solve the salary anomaly problem of Railway Workers during the talks ,the Strike was called off according to the Engine Drivers Union.
The strike which began at 3 p.m on last Wednesday (08) had paralyzed train services Island Wide by causing vere difficulties to the commuters.
Even the strike was called off there will be delays of some Train services both today and tomorrow morning (13)according to the Railway Unions..
However all the scheduled night mail trains will be running tonight as usual the Main Railway Control Room has announced.
