A Wanted Underworld Gang Member "Kudu Nuwan"Was Arrested

had today (25)arrested an Underworld gang member Nuwan allias "Kudu Nuwan" who is wanted by Police over several crimes including murders at Ihala Karagahamuna in Kadawatha area.

Police Task Force Personal had arrested the suspect during a raid carried out in Ihala Karagahamuna regarding a Heroin Business and he was arrested with a live hand grenade hidden in the roof of the house he lives in it has been revealed.

The suspect is due to be produced before the Mahara Magistrate Court tomorrow(Monday).

A Person Was Shot And Killed In Malabe

A 46 year old person was killed due to a

gun shooting incident occurred in Chandrika Kumarathunge Mawatha(Road) in Malabe today(25).

An unidentified gunman arrived in from a Motorcycle had shot and killed a person who was a resident of Mulleriyawa area after he got down from his jeep and walking in the road according to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare.

The cause behind the shooting has not yet been revealed.

A Person Was Arrested While Attempting To Smuggle Two Gold Sticks Illegally To India

Airport customs Officers have arrested

a 40 year old person who had illegally atempted to smuggle two gold sticks weighing around 122 grammes to India last evening (24) at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspect who is a resident of Diaz place in Pettah(Colombo) had hidden the two gold sticks inside the handle of his luggage according to Customs Officers.

The estimated value of the two Gold Sticks recovered is around Rs.671,500 it has been revealed.

Three Persons Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident

Five persons including a twelve year

old boy have been injured and hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were travellng in toppled over to a precipice around 50 foot deep at batalgala on Dikoya-Sanchimale main road in Hatton this evening(25).

The injured were admitted to the Dikoya Base Hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred when the Three Wheeler driver lost the control of the wheel of the Three Wheeler running towards Dikoya from Puluyawatte area according to Hatton Police.
