New Faculty Of Computing And Technology Attached To University Of Kelaniya Due To Be Inaugurated By President Tomorrow(28)
The new faculty of Computing and Technology attached to the University Of Kelaniya is due to inaugurate tomorrow(28) at BMICH under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The new faculty is due to commence an undergraduate courses for technical stream students by providing Bachelor Of Information And Communication Technology and Bachelor Of Engineering Technology Degrees.
A New degree programme Bachelor Of Computer Science Degree for Physical Science students too is due to commence according to reports.
Postgraduate Courses targeting working professionals and research academics are also due to commence by this new faculty in future sources said.

US War Ship "Blue Ridge" Has Arrived At Colombo Harbor For A Goodwill Visit
The War Ship "Blue Ridge" belonging to US Navy has arrived at Colombo Harbor today(27) for a goodwill visit according to Sri Lanka Navy.
Over 1000 crew members of the US Navy's Seventh Fleet Flag Ship were ceremonially welcomed by Sri Lanka Navy according to naval traditions it has been reported.
The Ship will be anchored at Colombo Harbor till it's departure on 31st of March .The Crew of the Ship "Blue Ridge" is due to conduct a Joint Naval Exercise with Sri Lanka Navy during their stay in Sri Lanka and special training programmes will be conducted for officers and sailors of Sri Lanka Navy it has been announced.

A 17 Year Old Youth Was Killed And Another Injured Due To A Motor Bicycle They Were In Veered Off The Road
A 17 year old youth was killed and another was injured and hospitalized when the Motor Bicycle they were in crashed after veered off the road on Kurululawa Road at Ragama(In Colombo) today(27).
The youth who was the pillion rider was succumbed to his injuries after admission to Ragama Teaching Hospital and the Motor Bicycle Rider has been receiving treatment at the same hospital according to Police.
The Crash has occurred due to the Motor Bicycle Rider has lost control the Police have said.
Ragama Police are conducting an investigation on the accident.

WORLD NEWS- Bomb Blast Occurred At Lahore Killed At Least 60 People And Injured 200
(CNN)A suicide blast in Pakistan's southwestern city of Lahore has killed at least 60 people, a health official told CNN.
Some 200 others were injured, health adviser for Punjab province Khawaja Salman Rafique said.

Officials said the blast was from a suicide bomber and happened at the city's Gulshan Iqbal Park.
The explosion ripped through the heart of Lahore on Sunday evening, at a time when many families were at the park.
Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the blast, expressing grief for the victims.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the explosion.

Presidential Commission On Missing Persons Has Received More Than 20,000 Complaints Regarding Missing Persons Since It's Establishment
Since it's establishment in 2013 the Presidential Commission to Investigate the Complaints Regarding Missing Persons has received more than 20,000 Complaints including around 5000 Complaints regarding missing of Security Personal according to the Commission.
The three member Presidential Commission has conducted a Public Sitting on Missing Persons at Mannar(In Northern Province) today(27) and conducted a public sittings at Mulativu on 26th of March.
The Commission comprising of Former High Court Judge Maxwell Parakrama Paranagama,Priyanthi Suranjana Vidyaratne and Mano Ramanathan.

Sudden Power Failures Occurred In Some Parts Of The Country And Power Fully Restored After Three Hours-Ceylon Electricity Board

Sudden Power Failures had occurred at some areas in Southern,Central,North Central and Uva Provinces this evening and after around three hours Ceylon Electricity Board has managed to restore the power supply fully to those areas according to the Electricity Board
Power Failures had occurred in Some areas in Southern Province,Kandy,Nuwara Eliya, Kurunagala,Polonnaruwa and Badulla Districts it has been reported.
The cause for these power failures not yet been revealed.
Police Have Detained Two Czech Nationals Who Attempted To Smuggle Few Insects And Plants Inherent To Sri Lanka From The Country
The Police Officers attached to Kaduwela Check Point have yesterday(26) night arrested two Czech Nationals who had attempted to smuggle few varieties of Insects and Plants inherent to Sri Lanka from the country on their way to the Air Port.
The Police Officers have taken into custody some Butterfly Shells,A Chemical Substance and few varieties of plants inherent to Sri Lanka which were in possession of foreign nationals.The Van the two Czech nationals were in also detained by the Police.
The suspects are due to produce before Kaduwela Magistrate tomorrow(28) and Nawagamuwa Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
