One Hundred Seventy HIV/AIDS Positives Have Been Reported From The Island During January To September 2015
Men are at the risk of contacting HIV/AIDS Virus more than women due to their sexual relationship with both men and women Dr.Liyanage has said.
Around 95% of the HIV/AIDS Positives reported this year up to now have been contacted the virus due to heterosexual behavior and 4% have been Mother To Child Transmissions.Around 1% have been contacted the virus due to Injecting of Drugs he has stressed.
According to the latest statistics of National STD/AIDS Campaign there are 2241 Cumulative HIV Positives in the country at the end of September this year.
Dr.Liyanage has revealed these facts during the Press Briefing held today(26) at UNAIDS Sri Lanka Office in Colombo.
