Police Have Detained Four Persons Who Had Run A Brothel At Wellawatte

The police have detained three females and a male who had run a brothel at Wellawatte (In Colombo) on the pretext of running a Ayurveda Massage Center at Havlock Road in Wellawatte Area last night.

The detained females are of the ages of 28,31 and 41 years the Police have stated.

Navy Personal Have Detained A Person With 30 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis At Chavakachcheri Area

Navy Personal attached to Kayts and Kankasanthurai Naval Bases have detained a person with 30 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis in his possession at Chavakachcheri Area (Northern Province) it has been reported.


Accordingly the Navy Personal have taken into custody 20 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis the suspect had been transporting and 10 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis hidden by him.

The detained suspect along with the Stock of Kerala  Cannabis had been handed over to the excise department office in Point Pedro for future course of action according to the Navy.

Police Have Detained Two Iranian Nationals Who Had Stolen Foreign Currency From A Foreign Currency Exchange Center In Wennappuwa

Wennappuwa Police have last night  detained two Iranian Nationals who fled away after stealing a foreign currency notes  worth Rs.591,750 from a foreign currency exchange center in Wennappuwa City(North Western Province).

The two suspects had stolen the foreign currency notes on 10th if August it has been revealed.

One thousand US Dollars,Eight Hundred Fifty Saudi Riyals and Three Thousand Drahms are among foreign currency they had stolen according to the Police.

After the robbery the Marawila District Court had issued a court order prevnt them from  leaving Sri Lanka.

The two suspected Iranian Nationals were detained by the Wennappuwa Police while they were in the Iranian Embassy in Sri Lanka to extend their visas .

A Fifteen Year Old Boy Had Been Drowned While Bathing In The Sea

A 15 year old boy had been drowned while bathing in the sea close to the Agulana Church (In Colombo) it has been reported.

The Navy Personal along with the Agulana Police Officers have launched a joint search operation to find the boy.

Agulana Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Navy Had Detained Ten Fishermen In The Seas Off Kadiraweli And Thalpadu While Engaging In Illegal Fishing

Sri Lanka Navy Personal have detained ten local fishermen while engaging in illegal fishing by using banned fishing nets in the seas off Kadiraweli and Thalpadu(In northern province) yesterday(26).

Accordingly Navy Personal had detained eight fishermen in the seas off Kadiraweli while engaging in illegal fishing with a purse saine net,two dinghies(boats) and diving mask the suspects and equipment were handed over to the Vakarai Police for future course of action.

The Navy Personal have detained another two fishermen with banned mono filament net and two dinghies in the seas off Thalpadu and handed over to Mannar Assistant Directorate Of Fisheries for future course of action.
