Seven Persons Had Been Injured Due To Lorry -Three Wheeler Collison

Seven persons had been injured and hospitalized after a Lorry without Breaks colliding with 07
Three Wheelers  at Central Road in Gas street Colombo today (20) according to Police Media Spokesman  SP Ruwan Gunasekare .

The incident occurred when the Lorry driver not able to control the vehicle due to the non functioning of the Break system he has stressed .

A Wild Elephant Was Killed After Colliding With A Train

A Wild  Elephant of the age  around
25 years  had been killed after colliding with a Train travelling from Colombo to Jaffna at Ramanur in Puliyankulam,Jaffna this morning (20).

The deceased Elephant was around 8 feet tall and had faced the incident whilst attempting to cross the railway line it has been revealed.  A herd of 16 cattle's had been killed in the same spot a week ago according to reports.


Twenty One ASP's And SP's Had Been Transferred

Police Department has transferred 21 Superintendents Of Police (SP) and Assistant
Superintendents Of Police (ASP) with immediate affect the Police headquarters has announced today (20).

Accordingly 15 ASP's and 07 SP's  had been transferred due to service requirements .National Police Commission has approved these transfers

Postal Unions To Launch One Day Sick Note Campaign From Midnight Tomorrow(21)

Postal Unions have decided to launch a 24 hour sick not campaign from midnight tomorrow
(21) until midnight on Monday (22) by demanding solutions for several of their service demands.

Due to the sick not campaign work of the 653 Postal offices and 40 Postal Administrative offices throughout the island will be paralyzed  according to the Unions .

The strike is scheduled to be launched by demanding solutions for the Postal workers service demands based on promotions,salary anomalies etc it has been revealed.

Meanwhile Minister of Postal Services M.H.A Halim had requested the Postal unions to reconsider their decision on the one day sick not campaign as the government has already paying attention to solve their demands.

A Member Of "Ava" Group Has Died Due To Police Shooting

A member of the "Ava" sword group has died due to a Police shooting at Mahipay area in Inuwil police division ,Jaffna today (20).

Police officers attached to Manipay Police had shot at a group of "Ava" Group when they have attempted to attack Police Officers from swords according to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare .The terrorists had attempted to attack police officers when attempted to arrest them it has been revealed.

.Around five "Ava" members had fled away from the scene after the shooting incident and Police have taken in to custody a Motorcycle and three swords left by the group .

Bakery Owners Revised The Bread Price To The Precious Price

Bread which was increased by Rs.5 has been reduced to the price prevailing in.according to the Bread owners Association.

Bakery Owners have earlier decided to increase the price of Bread by Rs.5 following the increased price of Wheat Flour by Prima and Serendib flour cimpanies by Rs.8 per a Kilo Gramme.

However as the Acting Minister of Trade and Commerce Buddhika pathirana has  ordered the authorities to raid the traders who are selling the Wheat flour for increased price Flour companies had revised the flour price to the previous price. 

Central Enviornment Authority Ordered The Company Which Imported 130 Container Load Of disposable Waste To Tranship

Central Enviornment Authority
(CEA)has ordered a foreign company located at Katunayake Free Trade Zone which imported 130 containers containing disposable waste tranship  to England where they came from .

The Foreign company belongs to a leading Sri Lankan Businessman had imported these containers full of used metresses, vehicle carpets ,Cushion pieces and disposable clinic waste  of the year 2017-2018 it has been revealed.

These disposable items had been removed from the containers and stored in the ground .

Central Enviornment Authority is due to take a legal action against the company which imported the  disposable waste .




Twenty Two Shops In Ginigathhena Identified As High Risk To Be Subjected To Landslide

Around 22 shops located at
Ginigathhena area in Kandy are high risk of  being subjected to Landslide according to the National Building Research Organization (NBRO).

A report regarding this had handed over to the AmbagaMuwa Pradeshiya Sabha it has been announced .

As a result AmbagaMuwa Pradeshiya Sabha chairman Jayasanka Perera had informed the owners of the 22 shops which are in high risk to remove from the shops else their licences obtained for maintaining shops will be cancelled .

These shops had been built without obtaining the approval of Pradeshiya Sabha according to the chairman .

Ten shops in Ginigathhena area had been subjected to be Landslide two days ago where a shop owner has died due to it .

A rainy weather experiencing by Many areas of Kandy had caused landslides according to reports. 

A Person Was Arrested With 203.265 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

Police Officers attached to Parayanankulam Police have arrested a
person with 203 Kilos and 265 Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in possession during a raid carried out in Andiapulankulam area ,Vavuniya today  (20).

The suspect was arrested whilst transporting the stock of Kerala Cannabis from North to south from  a Lorry it has been reported.

The stock of Kerala Cannabis had brought from india by Smugglers in North and from them the suspect had taken the Kerala Cannabis and distributed it has been revealed.

The suspect is due to be produced before  the Vavuniya court .
