Train Drivers To Launch A Token Island Wide Strike Tomorrow
Train drivers are due to launch an island wide token
strike from midnight tomorrow (27) by demanding solutions for their service demands incuding removing salary anomalies.
The strike will be launched as the authorities failed to provide reasonable solutions for their service demsnds according to the Train drivers union.

Around 200 Police Officers Attached To The Ministerial Security Division Are Due To Be Transferred
Around 200 police officers out of the 500 police
officers attached to the Ministerial security division (MSD) who do not have any work to perform will be transferred to various police stations with effect from 01st of April according to the Police Headquarters .
Another 100 police officers attached to the Ministerial Security Division and do not have any work to perform are due to transfer to other police stations soon sources said.
There around 1300 police officers atrached to the Ministerial Security Division at present it has been revealed.

A Store House Of A Famous Paddy Mill In Batticaloa Had Been Destroyed Due To A Gas Cylinder Explosion
The store room of a famous paddy mill situated in the
main road of kaththankudi in Batti caloa area (Eastern Province )completely destroyed and several buildings in surrounding area had been damaged today (26) after the Gas Cylinder used to boil paddy had exploded.
Two houses situated near the paddy mill had been also damaged as a result of the explosion occurred around 6 a.m today it has been reported.
Around Rs.2.5 million loss incurred due to the incident according to the authorities.

Government Hospital PSM'S To Launch An Island Wide Token Strike On Wednesday

(PSM's)attached to government hospitals namely Government Pharmacists,Radiogrsphers,Medical Laboratory Technicians(MLT's) ,Physiotherapists and Occupational therapists are due to launch an island wide token strike on this wednesday (29) by demanding solutions for ten of their long standing service demands according to Joint Confederation Of Professions Supplementary To Medicine.
The strike will be launched from 8 a.m on wednesday to 8 a.m on thursday by demanding solutions for ten service demands including of reintroducing the suspended promotion scheme for the PSM's ,making PSM' service an island wide service and announced PSM Service as a graduate service the Joint Confederation has stated.

A Body Of A 16 Year Old Teanaged Girl Recovered From Gregory Lake
A body of a 16 year old teanaged girl who committed
suicide by jumping into the Gregory Wewa(Lake) in Nuwara Eliya (Upcountry) had been recovered from the lake today (26).
After writing a letter to her family members last friday (24) night by stating that she will commit suicide the deceased left home and jumped into the Gregory Lake from magasthota area in Nuwara Eliya according to the police.
Nuwara Eliya police are investigating the matter.

Twelve Indian Fishermen Were Arrested While Illegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters
Sri Lanka Navy had yesterday (25) arrested 12 Indian
fishermen while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan waters in north west of delft island (North).
Navy had also taken into custody the two fishing trawlers the fishermen were in .Both the suspected fishermen and trawlers had been handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director in Jaffna for future course if action.

Joint Opposition MP Wimal Weerawansha Admitted To the Prison Hospital
Joint opposition MP and leader of the National
Freedom Front Wimal Weerawan nsha who is in remand prison in welikada and engaged in a fasting campaign over refusing his bail application by the court ,had been admitted to Prison Hospital today(25) due to poor health condition it has been reported.
Although MP Weerawansha had rejected to be admitted to the hospital ,welikada prison officials had admitted him to the hospital it has been revealed .
The imprisoned MP who was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Invrstigations Division on 10 th of January over misusing state owned vehicles had been remanded until 03rd of April.
