Five Deputy Ministers And Two State Ministers Appointed
Five new Deputy ministers and two
state ministers had sworn in before the President Maithripala Sirisena today (12)expanding the number of state ministers and deputy ministers in the government to 26 each.
Seven Backbench MP's of the ruling United National Party including Ranjith Aluvihare(State Minister of Tourism Development and Christian affairs)and Ajith Mannapperuma(Deputy Minister of Enviornment )have sworn in before the president today.
Another United National Party MP Buddika Pathirana who is in abroad due to be appointed to a deputy or state minister post once he returned to the country it has been revealed.
At present the number of Cabinet Ministers in Sri Lanka is 42.

Four Youth Were Arrested Over Scaring People Through FB
Dambulla Police have arrested four
youth of the ages 16-21 over publishing photographs in their facebook accounts with sharp objects including swords and scared residents of the area.
The youth who are residents of Kandalama,Kapela and Dambulla areas were arrested over an assault incident and during the police inquiry it has been reveaied that they were published photographs in Facebook to scare others.
Dambulla Police OIC has released the suspects after warning severely .

Temple Venerable Kobawaka Damminda Thero and another Buddhist monk of the temple were shot and wounded by an unidentified gunmen few hours ago near the Temple according to Kataragama Police.
The Injured Monks have been admitted to the Debarawewa Base Hospital and later transfered to the Hambanthota Base Hospital.
Three unidentified gunmen arrived in a Jeep carried out the gun shooting and had fled away it has been revealed.

Central Mail Exchange Had Been Closed Due To The Postal Strike
The Central Mail Exchange in Colombo had been closed due to the ongoing continuous strike of the Postal Workers belonging to 23 Postal Trade Unions it has been reported.Bags with a Large number of local/ foreign postal letters and Parcels are being seen s trucked in the Central mail exchange due to the strike.
However some post offices throughout the island are being functioned without any disruptions it has been rported.
Postal Trade Unions have launched the strike from 4 p.m last evening (11) by demanding solutions for their unresolved demands.

T.V Presenter Was Remanded Over Stabbing A Fitness Center Owner
A Television Programme Presenter attached to a State owned Television Channel Mahesh Nissanka was arrested by the Kadawatha Police today(12) over stabbing a owner of a fitness center at Enderamulla in Kadawatha last Saturday(09).
He was remanded until tomorrow(13) by the Mahara Magistrate Court after being produced before the court.
The suspect had stabbed the owner of a Fitness center over a personal dispute with a knife and the injured had been admitted to Colombo National Hospital for treatment.

Cabinet Approved A Proposal On Reducing The Kerosene Oil Price From Tonight
Cabinet has today (12) approved a proposal on reducing the Price of Kerosene Oil to Rs.70 with the effect from midnight tonight .
The Cabinet Proposal on this was submitted to the Cabinet by Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Vijith Wijayamuni De Soyza.
Government has increased the fuel prices on 10th of May and accordingly the Price of a Kerosene Liter had increased from Rs.44 to Rs.101.

Four Persons Have Been Critically Injured Due To Bus-Bousar-Motorcycle Collison
Four persons have been critically injured and hospitalized due to a Private Bus-Bo usar-Motorcycle collision at Pahalawela-Galewela area in Dambulla-Kurunagala Main Road today(12).
The Critically injured two Bus Passengers ,A female traveling in the Motorcycle and the Bousar Driver were admitted to the Galewela District Hospital .
The Accident Occurred when the Bousar driver unable to control the speed of the Bousar and it collided with a parked Motorcycle near by and the Bus which traveling from Colombo to Polonnaruwa and stopped at a Bus Stop in Pahalawela -Galewela area to allow passengers to get in to the Bus it has been revealed.

A 40 Year Old Tree Cutter Has Died After A Tree Collapsed On Him
A 40 year old tree cutter has died after a tree collapsed on him while cutting s "Turpentine " variety trees at Sculpa Tea Estate in Thalawakele area last evening (11).
The critically injured Contracted Tea Cutter attached to the Tea estate had succumbed to his injuries while taking him to the hospital.His body had sent to the Lindula Provincial Hospital.

A Person Was Arrested With Five Gold Biscuits At The Airport
Airport Customs have arrested a 39 year old person while attempting to smuggle five Gold Biscuits illegally to the country at the Katunayake.Bandaranaike International Airport this morning (12).
The suspect who is a resident of Kalmunai area has been arrested after returning to the country from Qatar and leaving the Airport through Green Chanel it has been revealed.The Gold Biscuits weighing 291.55 grammes and worth more than Rs.1.74 million were hidden in his luggage .
Airport Customs have confiscated the stock of Gold Biscuits and imposed a Rs.25,000 fine on the suspect according to Customs.
