Due to the ban imposed on sale and using of Several Pesticide Ingredients in Sri Lanka ,The local Corn Production may have decreased this year by around 20% according to Minister Of Agriculture Duminda Dissanayake.
The ban imposed on sale and using of Pesticide Ingredients like Glyphosate in Sri Lanka due to the dramatic increase of the Kidney Disease in North Central Province and not to take revenge from any faction the Minister has stated.

Sri Lankan Navy Have Arrested 12 Indian Fishermen While They Were Illegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters
Sri Lankan Navy have yesterday(05) arrested 12 Indian Fishermen while they were illegally fishing in near Sri Lankan Island of Kachchathivu .
According to the Indian Officials Sri Lankan Navy have arrested these Indian Fishermen along with three boats they were in and taken them to Thalaimannar Area(In Northern Province).They are due to be produced before the Magistrate Court there.

World's Largest Blue Star Sapphire Gem Has Been Discovered From A Gem Mine In Ratnapura
The World's largest "Blue Star Sapphire has been discovered from a Gem Mine in Ratnapura District(In Sabaragamuwa Province) and estimated it could sell for up to US Dollars 175 million according to Gemology Institute in Colombo.
The Blue Star Sapphire is weighing 1404.49 Carrots according to the Institute.
The new gem valued around US Dollars 100 million the reports said.

Pakistan To Sell Eight Combat JF-17 Thunder Air Crafts To Sri Lanka
Pakistan due to sell Eight Combat JF-17 Thunder Air Crafts to Sri Lanka under an agreement signed between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the presence of visiting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Shariff today(05) .
Sri Lanka and Pakistan have signed Eight Agreements related to the fields of Defense ,Security,Anti Terrorism ,Science and Technology .Under the first phase Pakistan is due to to sell Eight Combat JF-17 fighter jets to Sri Lanka.
JF-17 Thunder Air Crafts are a joint production of China and Pakistan.

Two Hundred Thirty Three HIV Positive Cases Have Been Reported From Sri Lanka in 2015
Two Hundred Thirty Three (233) HIV Positive Cases have been reported from Sri Lanka in 2015 according to the latest report issued by National STD/AIDS Campaign of Sri Lanka.
The highest number of HIV Positives reported last year has been recorded during the last quarter October to December Period and 68 HIV Positives have been reported during that quarter the report has stated.
Around 65% of the HIV Positives reported during last quarter of 2015 were men and 35% were women the Director of National STD/AIDS Campaign Dr.Sisira Liyanage has said.

Wheat Flour Importers Have Increased The Price Of Wheat Flour
Although Government has not increased the Price of Wheat Flour ,The Local Wheat Flour Importers have been increased the price of a Kilo Gramme of Wheat Flour by Rs.2 according to sources.
Government has implemented a controlled Price for Wheat Flour and the Price of a Kilo Gramme of Wheat Flour stands as Rs.87.
The Consumer Affairs Authority too confirmed that Government has not increased the market price of Wheat Flour.
