Presidential Commission Inquire On Serious Frauds Has Requested State Minister Priyanakara Jayaratne To Appear Before Commission
The Presidential Commission inquire on Serious Frauds And Corruption has requested the State Minister Of Law,Order and Prison Reforms Priyankara Jayaratne to appear before the commission on 09th of February to record a statement regarding an allegation leveled against him.
The State Minister Jayaratne who is the Former Minister Of Civil Aviation in previous government is due to be appeared before the Presidential Commission to record a statement regarding an irregularities occurred at Sri Lankan Catering Service attached to Sri Lankan Air Lines during the previous regime.
The Minister had given a statement to the commission regarding the allegation in an earlier occasion too.

Police Have Arrested A Person Running Illicit Liquor Business And More Than 1800 Liters Of Illicit Liqour
The Western Provincial Crimes Division(North) Police have arrested a person who is running an illicit liquor business and more than 1800 liters of Goda(A kind of illicit liquor) and equipment use for preparing liquor at Divulapitiya (In Western Province) yesterday(07).
The suspect is a resident of Hanwapola Area in Divulapitiya and he is due to be produced before Minuwangoda Magistrate Court.

Two Persons Have Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To The Van They Travelling In Fallen Down A Precipice
Two persons have been injured and hospitalized due to the high speed van they have travelling in had run off the road and fallen down a precipice at Watawala Area(In Up Country) this evening according to the Police.
The Injured have been admitted to the Watawala Hospital .
The High Speed Van travelling to Hatton from Ginigathhena Area had lost control and fallen down a 15 feet precipice ,The Police have said.

Visiting United Nations High Commissioner For Human Rights Prince Zeid Had Visited Northern Province
The visiting United Nations High Commissioner For Human Rights Prince Zeid Raad Al Hussain has today(07) visited the war affected Northern Province in Sri Lanka and held talks with key provincial officials and relatives of the missing persons.
During his visit to North the UN High Commissioner had first met the Chief Minister of Northern Province C.V Vigneshwaren at Jaffna and held talks on Political Prisoners ,War Widows Of The North,Disappearances Occurred During War ,Regional Development Affairs and Resettlement Process.
After the talks held with Chief Minister Vigneshwaren UN High Commissioner had met relatives of those went missing during the war who have protested out side the Chief Minister's Office in Jaffna .During the meeting the protesters have told their grievances to the High Commissioner Al Hussain and he has assured the protesters that he will discuss on the grievances with Sri Lanka's President and Prime Minister.

Ministry Of Health To Strengthen The Private Medical Ordinance Act
The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine has decided to correct the lapses in Private Medical Ordinance Act and strengthen it according to Director General Of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala.
As it has been revealed through the report that handed over to the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne by Five Member Committee probed on alleged Kidney Racket between Sri Lanka and India ,that the lapses in Private Medical Ordinance Act are also caused this racket ,Ministry has decided to strengthen the act Dr.Mahipala has said,
Five Member Committee that investigated on alleged Kidney Racket has handed over it's report to Health Minister last Friday. The Criminal Investigations Department(CID) has launched a separate investigation on the Kidney Racket.
