UN High Commissioner For Human Rights To Be Arrived Sri Lanka For A Four Day Official Visit

During his visit the High Commissioner For Human Rights will discuss on current challenges and opportunities to strengthening the rule of law and protection of human rights in Sri Lanka with government leaders.He is also due to review the implementation of recommendations made in his report to the UN Human Rights Council.
The High Commissioner For Human Rights who is arriving at the invitation of the government is due to hold discussions with President Maithripala Sirisene ,Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe ,Minister Of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera ,Other Minsters,Civil Society Leaders ,The victims of human right violations and Religious Leaders.
He is also due to visit Kandy,Trincomalee and Jaffna during the visit.
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Arrived The Island For A Two Day State Visit
During the visit she is expected to discuss on Indian Fishermen's Issue and the Rights of Tamil Minority in the island with Sri Lankan Leaders.
The Indian Minister Of External Affairs had co chaired the 09th Joint Commission Meeting held in Colombo yesterday to discuss key bi lateral and regional issues with her Sri Lankan Counterpart Mangala Samaraweera.
Lanka Electricity Board Has Taken Legal Action Against 2704 Fraudulent Electricity Users Last Year
The Electricity Board has fined Rs.170.39 million from those who had been fraudulently made use of electricity during the raids carried out last year .
The Minister Of Power And Energy has requested the public to inform on fraudulent electricity users to the number 011 2 422 259 .
Galle Magistrate Court Has Released Southern Provincial Council Chief Minister On Bail
A case was filed against the Chief Minister of Southern Provincial Council by the Police regarding allegedly threatening a group of postal voters during the Presidential Election held last year.As
the Chief Minister has failed to appear before court in connection with the case the Galle Magistrate has issued an arrest warrant against him .
Cecille Kothalawala Who Had Been Arrested By Immigration Officials Yesterday(04) Was Admitted To A Private Hospital
Cecille Kothalawala the wife of former Sri Lankan Business Tycoon Lalith Kothalawala who had been arrested yesterday(04) by Immigration Officials has been admitted to a Private Hospital in Colombo today(05) for treatment after she has complaint about illness.

The wife of the former Business Tycoon has been arrested upon her arrival at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Air Port per a Court Order issued few years ago to arrest her regarding misappropriation of Rs.26 billion worth public investments at Golden Key Credit Company.
Meanwhile the request made by Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to take a statement from her at the hospital and remanded her afterwards has been turned down by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya, The Chief Magistrate has informed the CID that he will visit Cicille Kothalawala only if she has admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
The Chief Magistrate has also instructed the CID to submit a report to him by stating the reason for Cecille Kotahlawala to getting treatment from a private hospital not from a government hospital.
However the Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage has visited the suspected lady at the hospital today and recorded a statement regarding two other court cases filed against her.

Five Member Committee Probed On Alleged Illegal Kidney Racket Has Handed Over It's Report To The Health Minister
The chairman of the committee Deputy Director General Of Health (Dental Services) Dr.Jayasundara Bandara has handed over the report to the Minister at the Ministry Of Health.
According to the Health Ministry Sources the report has confirmed all the alleged Kidney Transplant Surgeries have performed at four private hospitals in Colombo under the permission of Health Authorities.
The Five Member Committee investigated on the alleged Kidney Racket had visited the four recognized private hospitals in Colombo to gather information regarding the kidney transplants which had been performed on Indian Nationals.
The Health Minister is due to implement the recommendations made through the report after examining it Health Ministry Sources have said.
Indian Police have arrested the king pin of the alleged Kidney Transplant Racket operated between Sri Lanka and India Suresh Prajapathi in India last month and named six Sri Lankan Doctors who were involved in this racket.
