Colombo Magistrate Court To Consider The Case Against Shashi Weerasinghe On 08th Of February 2017

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan pilapitiya has
yesterday (25)announced that the case filed against Shashi Weerasinghe the wife of Joint Opposition MP Wimal Weerawanshe on obtaining a diplomatic passport by providing false information will be taken into consideration on 08th of February next year (2017).

The Chief Magistrate has also issued summons to witnesses of the case against Shashi Weerasinghe as per the request of Criminal Investigations Department (CID)  to appear before  court on that date.

MP Wimal Weerawanshe too faced a similar charge on obtaining a diplomatic passport during previous regime by providing false information.

A wild elephant who had done an extensive damage to the houses/cultivations  and killing people in several
areas in Anuradhapura District had been captured and due to be sent to an Elephant Orphanage in Horowpathana area (North Central Province) according to the Police.

The captured Elephant had done an   extensive damage to the properties and cultivations and killing people in Thanthirimale,Pemaduwa and Oyamaduwa areas in Anuradhapura District  it has been reported.

Two Persons were Arrested With 45 Kilo grammes Of Gun Powder At Madawachchiya

Madawachchiya (In North Central Province) Police
had arrested two persons attached to an Explosive Store which maintained at Madawachchiya  area without a valid license.

Police have also taken into custody 45 kilo grammes of gun powder and other equipment  in possession of the suspects it has been revealed.

Madawachchiya Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

A Motor Cyclist Was Killed After His Motor Cycle Veered Off The Road In Bambalapitiya

A 20 year old Motor cyclist was killed due to his Motor
Cycle veered off the road  after loosing control in Bambalapitiya (In Colombo) today (25).

The Motor Cyclist was succumbed to his injuries after admisson to the Colombo South (Kalubowila) Hospital.The victim was a resident of mattakuliya area it has been revealed.

Bambalapitiya Police are conducting an investigation on tbe incident.

Galle Magistrate Court Has Today (25)Released The Controversial "Avant Guarde"Ship On Rs.35 Million Bond

Galle Magistrate Court has today (25) released the
controversial "MT Avant Guarde" ship taken into custody for maintaining a floating armory while anchored at Galle Harbour on Rs.35 million bond.

The ship was released on bond to the Ceylon Shipping Corporation it has been stated.

The ship was taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Navy   in October last year (2015) following the officials of Criminal Investigations Department (CID)had boarded the "MT Avant Guarde" Ship to inspect it as per the court order issued by Galle Magistrate Court on 17th of October 2015.

Three Wheeler Caught Fire At Bambalapitiya

The Mother and Child in the Three Wheeler had been escaped without injuries.Although the residents have tried to douse the fire it failed and as a result the vehicle was completely destroyed the sources have stated.

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.

Police Special Task Force Personal Recovered Two Hand Bombs And A Cyanide Capusle In Karadiyanaru Area

Two hand bombs and the Cyanide Capsule have been recovered During a search operation carried out by the Police Special Task Force personal in the area it has been revealed.

The personal handed over the recovered items to Karadiyanaru Police for further investigations.

The Lanka E News Editor has been charged for publishing a photograph of the suspect who had accused as assaulted the former Editor of the Divaina and  Rivira Newspapers Mr.Upali Thennakoon before the suspect was produced for an identification parade.

The Gampaha Chief Magistrate Kavindya Nananayakkare has ordered the Department of Immigration and Emigration to arrest the Lanka E News Editor if he arrives in Sri Lanka.

Badulla High Court Has Passed A Death Sentence To A Person Over A Murder At Welimada

court order සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලBadulla High Court has today(25) sentenced a person who found guilty  over a killing of another  person at Welimada area in 2003 to death .

The suspect who is a resident in Uva Paranagama area had been arrested upon his arrival to the country from abroad and produced  before the court.

Awissawella High Court Has Sentenced 18 Persons To Death Over A Killing Of An Estate Superintendent

Awissawella High Court has today(25) sentenced 18 persons including the former chairman of Deraniyagala Pradeshiya Saba Anil Champika Wijesinghe to death over the killing of Estate Superintendent in Noori Estate Nihal Perera at Deraniyagala.

The accused were sentenced to death after they have found guilty for the killing of an Estate Superintendent .

Altogether 21 persons were charged over the killing but the Awissawella High Court Judge has ordered to release 03 of them from the charges.
