Around 100,000 Vials of Rubella Vaccines belongs to the National Immunization Campaign were Expired during the November this year after the Vaccine was suspended twice within the Year it has been revealed.Administering the Rubella Vaccine was suspended twice this year following the Deaths of two School Girls who died after administering the Vaccine.However the TGA Laboratory of Australia which tested the Rubella Vaccine used in Sri Lanka given a Green Light on last friday by stating that the Quality of the above Vaccine is Safe and Up to standard.But at the moment around 100,000 Rubella Vaccine Vials were out dated as their Expiry date appeared as November 2009.These Vials were purchased from the "Serum Insttiute Of India "in 2008 under the recommendation of the World Health Organization Sri Lankan Epidemeology Unit sources said.Around 300,000 Rubella Vaccines were imported to Sri Lanka in 2008 and out of this stock 200,000 vials were administered according to the sources.
