A Pakistani National Was Arrested With 5.5 Kilo Grammes Of Heroin In Possession

Police Narcotics Bureau Officials arrested a 25 year old Pakiatani

 National with 5.5 kilo grammes of Heroin in his possession at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport in wee hours of this morning (04).

The haul of heroin concealed in luggage of the suspect who arrived in Katunayake Airport through a flight from Doha,Qatar it has been reported.

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin arrested is more than RS.50 million according to the Police Narcotics Bureau.

The officials of the Police Narcotics Bureau had detained the suspected Pakistani National and currently questioning him over the incident.

Police have arrested around fifty persons including thirty past and

Present students attached to a school in Panadura over attacking a students of two schools in Padukka and Panadura by storming into the schools today (03).

Police have also taken into the custody a lorry and a defender vehicle belonging to the suspects

The suspects are due to be produced before the Homagama Magistrate Court tomorrow(05).

Five Police Officers Arrested Over A Death Of A Suspect

Police have arrested five police officers attached to the Wadduwa Police Station

  including an Inspector and four Police Constables  over a death of a person while in custody in  the Police Station on 2007.

It has been revealed that the deceased suspect was an eye witness of a case filed against the inspector who was arrested and several other Police Officers.

The youth who was a resident in Galle District collided with a train while on the way home after off from his duties.

Two Persons Arrested With 23 Kilos And 926 Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis In Their Possession

Police have arrested two persons with 23 kilos and 926 grammes of Kerala Cannabis in their possession in Samanthurai area at Ampara District .

The suspects arrested as per an information received by the Police and they were remanded until 08th of March after being produced before the Samnathurai Court.

A Stock Of Facial Creams Belonging To Popular Brands Filled With Locally Made Creams Taken Into Custody

Officials attached to the Consumer Affairs Authority  had taken into custody a stock of facial cream Containers filled with locally made creams and indicated them as belonging to seven popular imported brands ,stored in a storehouse in Wellampitiya (Western Province).The storehouse was sealed after the raid.

The value of the stock of facial creams taken into custody is estimated as Rs.15.7  million.The owners of the storehouse brought stock of original imported brands of facial cream containers to the storehouse and  filled them with locally made creams before issuing to the local market it has been revealed.

The officials had taken into custody around 45,000 containers brought to filled the locally made creams priced as Rs.350  each.

The officials are due to take a legal action against those who are in charge of maintaining the storehouse .
