NBRO Extended The Landslide Warnings Issued For Three Districts

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) had extended the landslide warnings issued for three districts Badulla ,Matara and Kegalle, it has been announced.


Accordingly landslide warnings issued for Passara and Haldummulla divisional secretariats  in Badulla District ,Kotapola and Pasgoda Divisional Secretariats  in Matara District and Kegalle Divisional Secretariat in Kegalle District had been extended due to the heavy showers prevailing in those areas .The rain fall of those areas had exceeded 75 mili meters during last 24 hours according to the authorities

University Lecturers Began Evaluation Of G.C.E A/L Papers

 The University Lecturers have decided to end their boycott on  evaluation of answer scripts of the  G.C.E Advanced Level examination 2023 and taking part in the process from today(04).

According to the Federation Of University Teachers Association (FUTA) the University Lecturers will end their trade union action launched against the new tax policy implemented by the government which began two months back .the marking of the scripts of G.C.E A/L examination 2023 was delayed since two months due to the strike of University lecturers .

The FUTA members had held discussions with President Ranil Wikramsinghe last week over their demand . FUTA to commence 2022 A/L paper-marking?

7000 Dansala's Registered For This Years Vesak Festival

 Around 7000 Alms Giving Centers known as "Dansala" s had been registered Island wide for this year's Vesak festival which falls tomorrow (05) according to the Public Health Inspectors (PHI)Union .

Due to the economic crisis the number of Dansala 's registered for this year's Vesak festival is lower then in previous years the Union has stated .The PHI Union had deployed around 3000 PHI's to inspect Vesak Dansala's it has been revealed.
