Cabinet Approved A Proposal TO Ban Cattle Slaughter In Sri Lanka
Cabinet has last Tuesday (29)approved
the proposal submitted by the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe to ban Cattle slaughter in Sri Lanka .
Accordingly Cabinet has decided to take immediate necessary steps to amend Animal act of No; 29 in 1958 and Animal.ordinance and related laws to implement cattle slaughter ban .
However Cabinet has decided to import beef for those who are consuming it ,But many sees this as an unnecessary meassure of promoting meet consumption in the country .

A 72 Year Old female was killed due to a
Wild Elephant attack at Darshana pura,Madirigiriya (Polonnaruwa District )in wee hours of this morning (30)it has been reported.
The deceased who was a resident of Darshanapura area were attacked by a Wild Elephant whilst travelling to her house from her daughters house near by .
The body of the deceased had been sent to Madirigiriya Base Hospital.

The Owner Of The Five Storied Building In Kandy Which Collapsed Last Week Killing An Infant Girl And Her Parents ,Had Been Arrested And Remanded
Kandy Police had today (29)arrested the
owner of the five storied illegal building which had fallen on to a house and a hotel at Sangamiththa Road in Buwelikada ,Kandy killing one and half month old infant girl and her parents ,last week .
The suspect who was the former Basnayaka Nilame of Natha Devalaya, Kandy, Anura Lewke was remanded until 13 th of October by the Kandy Magistrate Court after he had been produced before the court by Kandy Police .
Kandy Police had requested the suspect who was charged over fleeing from the collapsed five storied building with his family without informing other residents on the incident ,to appear before Police today and later he was arrested it has Been revealed.
Kandy Police are investigating over the incident.

Attorney General Informed Supreme Court That The Government Has Decided To Introduced New Amendments To 20 th Amendment
Attorney General Dappula De Livera
had today (29)informed the five member Judge Panel considering the petitions filed against 20 th amendment to the constitution that the government has decided to introduce new amendments to the proposed Amendment during committe level.
Attorney General had informed on governments decision when the five member Judge Panel had taken in to consideration the 39 petitions filed against 20 th amendment today.
The list imcluding the new amendments will be submitted to the court through a special motion attorney General had informed the court through his lawyers.
Meanwhile lawyers representing petitioners had requested the judge panel to provide these new amendments to the 20 th amendment for their clients, which was accepted by the Judge panel and requested the Attorney General to do so .
Meanwhile 08 intermediate petitions were also submitted to the Supreme Court requesting a chance for them to provide facts regarding the 20 th amendment.

Seventeen Indian Crew Members Of An Oil Tanker Had Tested Positive For Corona Virus After Their Arrival At Colombo Port
All 17 member crew of an Indian Oil
Tanker arrived at Colombo Port few days back had been tested positive for Corona virus and now under treatment according to sources.
Five Sri Lankans and their family members who had contacted with some of the Corona positive crew members of the Oil tanker had also under self isolation the sources have added .
All 17 crew members of the Indian Oil Tanker were undergone "PCR "Tests after one of them had shown Corona Virus symptoms soon after arrival according to officials .
The oil tanker which these crew members were in carried 4000 metric tonnes of fuel to Sri Lanka and now the tanker is being anchored at Trincomalee Port to unload the fuel .

A Large Stock Of Illegally Imported Turmerich Recovered From Pesalai
Pesalai Police have taken into custody
1024 Kilos and 245 Grammes of TurmerIc illegally smuggled to Sri Lanka via sea route ,in a Lorry parked at Periyakersal area in Pesalai (Mannar District ) today (27).
Police have recovered the stock of Turmeric ,which is in Short supply in the country at present,whilst stored in 29 polythene bags in the Lorry according to Police .
Police had witnessed a suspicious Lorry parked at Periyakersal area and recovered the stock of Turmeric from it during inspection according to reports .
No one had been arrested regarding the incident so far and Pesalai Police are investigating over the incident.

A Russian Aircraft Official Earlier Tested Positive For Corona Virus Now Tested Negative For The Virus -General Shavendra Silva

Consumer Affairs Authority Had Fixed The Price Of Coconuts
Consumer Affairs Authority had issued
an extra ordinary Gazette Notification today (25)fixing a maximum selling price for coconuts based on it's round size.
Accordingly if the round size of a Coconut Is more than 13 inch the maximum selling price is Rs.70 and the coconut with 12-13 inch size can be sold for Rs. 65 the Authority has stated.
A coconut with the round size less then 12 inches Can be sold for Rs. 60 .
No trader can sell coconuts above these prices the Consumer Affairs Authority has stated.

A Tense Situation Occurred After A Russian Aircraft Officer Who Had Tested Positive For Corona Virus At Matara -He Had Visited Many Places But Officials Had Not Informed On The Positive To PHI 's
A tense situation had àoccurred due to
a Russian Cargo Aircraft official who is among a group of 15 officials visited Sri Lanka on 13 th of September and had tested positive for Corona virus at a private hospital in Matara last Wednesday (23).
The Corona positive was reported as tested negative for the virus when he had undergone the "PCR "test for first time after arriving here at Hambanthota Hospital.
The group of Russian Aircraft officials including the Corona posotive had stayed at a hotel in Polhena,Matara and during their stay they have visited many places in the area by violating quarantine rules it had been reported.
