Another 75 Omicron Positives Had Been Reported Today (22)

 Another 75 "Omicron " positives had been identified in Sri Lanka through the Genome Sequencing Tests carried out on 78 samples collected from the local community according to the Director of   Allergy ,Immunology and Cell biology  Unit of the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine of Sri Jayawardenapura University in Colombo Dr.Chandima Jeewandara. With these 75 "Omicon positives the total number of "Omicron Positives reported s in Sri Lanka had risen to 280 it has been reported , 



Out of the 78 Samples that had been tested 03 were infected with Delta Dr.Jeewandara had stated .These samples were sequenced from 01 st.02nd and 03rd week of January he has further said .

Another 845 Corona Positives Reported Today (22)

 A total of 845 Corona positives had been reported today (22) in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 601,048 according to Epidemiology Unit .


Accordingly 9832 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals .Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit Has stated .

Meanwhile 6889 Corona Positives had been recovered and discharged from hospitals and quarantine centers today ,Increasing the total number of Corona Positives that had been recovered and discharged so far to 575,932 it has been reported .

12 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (22)

 Another 12 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (22) ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 15,284 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).


Accordingly 10 males and 02 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated ,Out of the deceased 11 were over 60 years of age and one was belonged to 30-60 year age group it has been revealed .
