A Third Year University Student Had Died After Fallnig Down
A third year Engineering faculty student attached to the Eastern University at Oluvil, Batticaloa has suddenly died after falling down at the university premises yesterday (24).
The cause behind the death of the student who was a resident of Hatton area
has not yet been revealed.
His post mortem is due .

Water Board Authorities Had Paid One Of The Contractors Of A Water Project An Additional Rs.220 Million -COPE Chairman

And Drainage Board had paid one of the contractors of Eastern Water project of the Board an additional Rs.220 million illegally it has been revealed during the COPE (Committe on Public Enterprises ) meeting held at Parliamentary Complex under the patronage of it's chairman JVP MP Sunil Handuneththi yesterday (23).
COPE Chairman MP Handuneththi has instructed the Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage who was present there to hold an independent inquiry regarding this Fraudulent activity and inform him who are responsible for it .

Accordingly Army, Navy and Airforce personal will be deployed in every Administrative District .Accordance to the powers vested with President under the Public Security act.
Meanwhile Defense Ministry Secretary Retired General Shantha Kottegoda has announced that the State Of Emergancy which implemented on 22 nd of April following the Easter Sunday attacks has been deployed. .

Train Derailment At Up Country Railway Line Causes Damage to the Rail Track
Train services of Up Country
y Railway line had been delayed due to the derailment of a Train travelling from Kandy to Ella area near nambiligala Train station today (24).
Accordingly the Train Engine along with the four Compartments of the train had been derailed and it caused damages to the Up-country Railway line it has been revealed .
Due to this situation Trains travelling from Colombo Fort to Badulla had been stopped at Gampola Railway station and Trains travelling from Badulla to Colombo Fort had been stopped at Nawalapitiya Train station.
No casualties had been reported due to the derailment. The renovation work of the derailed Train is currently underway .
