Many vehicles which were entered Colombo City yesterday (03) are being identified as belonging to Financial institutions according to Police. accordingly 15,571 Vehicles belonging to Financial Institutions had entered Colombo City yesterday .

Meanwhile 886 persons had been arrested yesterday by the Police over violating quarantine laws

Travel Restrictions To Be Continued Until 14 th Of June-Authorities Failed To Control People's Movements

As Government has decided to extend the islandwide travel restrictions currently being imposed until 14 th of June in.view of Corona surge in the country ,Authorities are still struggling to restrict the movements of people who are coming to roads to buy their needs .

Although Authorities have announced that mobile vendors will be coming to doorsteps in every area to sell residents the essential commodities and public can order the essential daily needs from.government owned sathosa food city outlets , Many have complained that they haven't seen any mobile vendors in their areas and sathosa site is currently not working.

Islandwide travel restrictions are due to end this Monday !07) However as the number of Corona Infections in the country is on the rise authorities have decided to extend it from another week .

Public is not being allowed to visit outside to purchase goods from shops which are closed at the moment ,However the number of Corona positives reported daily is on the surge since two days as many have came outdoors during last few days by showing fake letters of their employers which indicates they were asked to report for duty and on the pretext of providing essential service according to Police .

3297 Corona Positives Reported Yesterday (03)

A total of 3297 Corona Positives had been reported in the Country yesterday (03) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 195,844 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .

Accordingly majority of these Corona positive had been reported from Gampaha(648)and Colombo(630/ Districts and positives were Reported from all 25 Districts yesterday (03) the center has stated .

Among those that had been tested positive for Corona virus yesterday there were 33 foreign arrivals it had been reported .

Meanwhile at the moment 31,839 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and quarantine centers .
