Police Department Have Reinstated 149 Police Officers In Their Services
The Police Department has reinstated 149 Police
Officers who are expelled from the service earlier due to getting married during their probation period, under the recommendations of the Police Commission.
According to the rules of Police Depatment Those who join the Police Department as Police Cadet Officers not allow to get married for 3 years.
Under the recommendations of the Police Commission 03 Assistsnt Superintendents Of Police(ASP), 13 female constables,132 male constables and a Police constable driver have reinstated in the service the Police Department has announced.

Former Police DIG Anura Senanayake Further Remanded Until 18th Of May Over Thajudeen's Murder

Senanayake who is in remand over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby player Wasim Thajudeen has been further remanded until 18th of May by the Colombo Additional Magistrate yesterday (04).

Three Females Shocked And Hospitalized In Hatton
Three females were shocked and hospitalized this
evening(04) due to a lightning strucked on them in an estate in Hatton (Upcountry)area.
The three females were admitted to the Dikoya Basic Hospital for treatment.
Heavy showers assisted with lightning fallen to the upcountey this evening it has been reported.

A group of residents lives near the Meethotamulle
Garbage Dump had today (04) complaint to the Human Rights commission that the government still not provided the relief required by the persons who displaced due to the Meethotamulle Garbage dump collapse on 14th of April.

A Petition Was Filed In Court Of Appeal Against GMOA President Dr.Padeniya
A petition was filed in Court Of Appeal
today(04)against the president of the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA)Dr.Anurudda Padeniya by stating the GMOA president has underestimated the powers of the Appeals court through a statement he made regarding the decision given for SAITM recently.
The petition was filed by Professor Sarath Wijesuriya and Gamini Viyangoda.
The Court Of Appeal had recently given approval for registering the students passed out from Malabe ,Private Medical Collage (SAITM) in Sri Lanka Medical Council and Dr.Padeniya has been accused through the petition over the defamatory statement made by him against the court decision during a protest campaign held against SAITM on 07th of April in front of the Colombo Fort Railway station.

A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Head On Collision Between Two Motorcycles
A motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle colliding
with another motorcycle on Madampe-Kuliyapitiya road.
The accident occurred when the motorcycle which the deceased was in tried to pass a tractor on the road.
The 35 year old critically injured motorcyclist had succumbed to his injuries on admission to Galmuruwa Hospital and the other injured motorcyclist admitted to Chilaw Hospital for treatment.
Madampe Police have arrested the Tractor driver regarding the accident.

An Unidentified Armed Gang Threatened The Convener Of The Medical Faculty Teachers Union
An unidentified armed gang had threatened The convener of the Medical Faculty Teachers Union Dr.M.C Weerasinghe over leading a struggle against the Malabe,Private Medical Collage(SAITM) according to the Government Dental Surgeons Association.
The Association has strictly condemned this act and stated that the struggle launched against SAITM will move forward despite such threats.

Seventeen Mortar Bullets Hidden Inside A Well By LTTE Recovered From Kilinochchi
A resident of Kilinochchi area(Northern Province) had recovered seventeen 60 mili meter Mortar Bullets hidden inside an Agri Well in Uruththirapuram ,Kilinochchi while clearing the well it has been reported.
Kilinochchchi Police Officers have taken into custody the stock of Mortar Bullets after been informed by the resident.
The recovered Bullets were decayed as they were inside the well since long period according to the Police.

Police Have Arrested A Person With 99 Kilos Of Wallapatta In Grandpass
Police Officers attached to the Anti Fraud Unit of the Colombo Division have arrested a person in Grandpass area (Colombo) with around 99 Kilo Grammes of expensive "Wallapatta"(Gyrinops Walla) in his possession .
The stock of "Wallapatta"which use for making an expensive perfumes had been transported to Grandpass from Mawanalle area it has been revealed.
The value of the stock of "Wallapatta" taken in to custody is estimated as around Rs.594 million.

A Heavy Traffic Is Being Reported From Technical Collage Junction,Maradana Due To A Students Protest
A Heavy traffic is being reported from surrounding roads in Technical Collage junction since this evening(04) as a group of students attached to the Technical Collage launched a protest campaign in front of the Collage .
