A Jaffna Resident Was Arrested Over Attempting To Migrate Europe Through Fake Documents

Immigration and Emigration officials
have today  (28)arrested a 36 year old person who had attempted to fly Europe by submitting fake documents indicating that he is a Naval  officer attached to a Merchant Ship at the Katunayake International Airport. 

The suspect who is a resident of Kopai in Jaffna had attempted to migrate Europe by submitting fake documents, However the immigration officers had  suspected on  his behaviour and found the documents  submitted by the suspect are fake ones during testing them .

immigration and Emigration officials had later handed over the suspect to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officials at the Airport for further investigations.

Public Health Inspectors To Suspend Their Trade Union Action Tomorrow (29)Morning Following Talks Held With P.M

HI) who had been withdrawn from Corona Control activities and Infectious Diseases control activities since 17 th of July and 19th of July respectively over not providing them  legal powers to control Corona outbreaks in the country ,have decided to suspend their trade union action at 7.30 a.m tomorrow (29) according to the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors   Union .

The ongoing trade union action of Public Health Inspectors is scheduled to be suspended tomorrow morning  following the agreement reached during  talks held with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe at Temple Trees this morning  (28).

At the meeting an agreement has been reached between Public Health Inspectors and Officials to provide legal powers to Health inspectors under the Quarantine act to take legal action during an epidemic situation to be carried out under the supervision of MOH of the area it has been revealed. If there's a confusion over a legal action between Public health inspectors and MOH  it should be carried out under the approval of Director General Of Health Services.

The executive committee of the Public Health Inspectors Union convened this evening  after the talks held with Prime Minister   has decided to suspend the trade union action  tomorrow morning and resumed their work with immediate effect .

Five Corona Positives had been reported until 10.45 p.m today  (28) increasing the total number of C
orona positives reported so far to 2810 according to Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly out of the first four Corona positives reported today ,Three were arrivals from United Arab Emirates and one was a contact of a Corona positive identified at Senapura Drug Rehabilitation Center. 

At the moment five hundred three Corona positives and  eighty four suspected cases are being treated at government hospitals .

A Total Number Of 175 Coroma Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Today (28)-Highest Number Of Positives Discharged On A Single Day



A total of 175 Corona positives had  been discharged from hospitals today (28)after full recovery ,The highest number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals here on a single day since the begining of Corona pandamic according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals after full recovery so far  had risen to 2296  .

The Recovery rate of Corona positives in Sri Lanka now stands at 81.8  percent.

Meanwhile a total number of 154,191 "PCR "Tests had been performed in Sri Lanka so far and 1126 "PCR " Tests had been performed yesterday  (27).
