Two Sluice Gates Of Victoria,Reservoir Opened Due To Overflowing Of The Reservoir
Two Sluice gates of the Victoria Reservoir had been automatically opened last night (20) due to the overflowing of the reservoir as a result of the heavy showers prevailing in the central hills .
Central Hill areas are
being experienced with heavy showers it has been reported.
Four Arrested And Remanded Over Importing And Supplying Of Substandard Injections
Four persons including the Director of the Medical Supplies Division (MSD) Dr.Kapila Wikramanayake had been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Over the importing and supplying of Substandard Human Immunoglobulin injections to the Government hospitals.
According to the Police Spokesman Senior Superintendent Of Police (SSP) Nihal Thalduwa four employees attached to the Medical Supplies Division including the Director of the MSD Dr.Wikramanayake,An Assistant Director,Storekeeper and the Accountant had been arrested and remanded until 29 th of this month after being produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate Court. The suspects were arrested as a part of the ongoing investigation in the supply of Substandard injections he has stated.
According to the reports the value of the substandard injections supplied to the hospitals is around Rupees one billion
