Speaker Karu Jayasuriya Refused To Attend Today's All Party Conference

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has informed
the President Maithripala Sirisena today (18)that he will not attend the All Party Conference called by President this evening to be held at 5 p.m. in Presidential Secretariet ,Colombo.

In a letter sent to the President to inform his decision, Speaker Jayasuriya has said his presence is not essential for a meeting held between Party leaders and will implement the decisions taken at the meeting after informing him on them.Speaker was also invited to the conference scheduled to be held with the participation of leaders  of parties  representing Parliament including United National Party ,United People's Freedom Alliance and Tamil National Alliance.

The All Party Conference scheduled to be held to find a solution for the political turmoil and disputes erupted in Parliament recently.

Meanwhile Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna  (JVP)too has decided not to attend the meeting it has been reported.

A 33 Year Old Person Had Been Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin In Colombo -14

A 33 year old person had been arrested
by the Police officers attached to the Anti Corruption Unit of Colombo District whilst attempting to transport 79.6 Kilo Grammes of Heroin worth more than Rs.25 million in a Motor Car parked near the Paradise grounds at Kotahena (Colombo ) last night (17).

Police have also taken in to custody the Motor Car where the haul of Heroin had been recovered .

The suspect who is a resident of Grand pass area in Colombo -14 is due to be produced before Maligakanda Magistrate Court today (18)and obtained a seven day detention order according to Police Media Spokesman. 

A Youth Was Killed After Colliding With A Train In VeryanGoda

A 28 year old youth was killed after
colliding with a slow Train travelling from Rambukkana to Colombo Fort Railway station  at the WeyAngoda Railway crossing on Friday  evening  (17).

The accident had occurred whilst the deceased attempting to cross  the Railway crossing when the rail gate was closed it has been revealed.

Three Persons Had Been Arrested With A Stock Of "Tramadol "Tablets

Minuwangoda Police have arrested
three Persons with around 4008 tablets of prescribed drug"Tramadol " also considered  as a narcotic illegally in their possession at Minuwangoda Town last friday (16)

The suspects are residents of Kotugoda and Ragama areas and the estimated value of the stock of "Tramadol"tablets taken into custody in their possession is more than Rs.one million .


Four Persons Injured Due To A Motor Car Accident

Two persons had received minor
injuries and two others had been critically injured and hospitalized after the Motor Car they were travelling in veering off the road and falling  in to a precipice around 50 feet  deep at Radella area in Hatton -Nuwara Eliya main road last evening  (17 )..

The two critically injured persons had been admitted to Nuwara Eliya Hospital for treatment .

The accident had occurred due to the heavy mist and slippery condition of the roads due to the heavy showers prevailing in most of the Central Hill areas these days .

"President Has Agreed To Accept Results Of A Vote Conducted By Voice To Pass No Confidence Motion "-Minister Lakshman Kiriella

When representatives of the parties
supported the No confidence Motion submitted against the minoroty government had met the President Maithripala Sirisena  last Thursday  (16 )president has agreed to accept the vote conducted to pass the  no confidence  motion by voice according to Minister Of United National Front Lakshman Kiriella.

"President has  requested  us to  conduct a vote by names of MP"s to pass the No confidence motion re submitted against the Minority Government  .We agreed.However when asked if we are not allowed to conduct such a vote in Parliament on friday President has agreed to accept  the result of a vote conducted  by voice Minister Kiriella has stressed.

"Even he has promised us to advise his Party MP's in the minoroty government to behave in pleasant manner during the Parliament session. "Minister Kiriella has stressed during a press briefing held at Temple Trees today.

Meanwhile Appointed Minister of minority government S.B Dissanayake has said President has told the UPFA MP' s in the minority government that he is not ready to meet  United National Front members till they have passed the no confidence motion in Parliament in proper way .

Addressing a function held at Kasagala Temple appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe has said he can't be removed from the premiership forcibly or unlawfully.

Justifying thuggery United People's Freedom Alliance  (UPFA)MP in Puttalam District Priyankara Jayaratne has said today the minority government  will show their power again on 19 th of November  if the United National Front is attempting to pass the No confidence motion again unlawfully .

President Has Called An All Party Conference Tomorrow (18)

President Maithripala Sirisena has
called an All Party Conference of all political parties represent in Parliament tomorrow (18) at 5 p.m in President's office .

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has  also invited to attend this conference it has been reported .

The Conference scheduled to be  held with the  aim of ending  political turmoil and disputes occurred   in Parliament recently and continuing  Parliament activities in good manner  according to President's Media Unit.

An agreement regarding this aspect  is expected  to be reached among all Political parties during  this conference Unit has said .

Meanwhile two.meetings scheduled  to be held between President and Deputy Leader of United National Party Sajith Prrmadasa and President and Tamil National Alliance (TNA)regarding the no confidence motion passed in Parliament yesterday (17) had been postponed it has been revealed.

Minority Government May Set Fire To The Parliament On Monday -UNP MP Nalin Bandara

Minority government may set fire to
the Parliament During it's next sitting on this Monday (19)although the United National Front (UNF) government  Members will not harm anyone   according to the UNF MP Nalin Bandara .

Addressing a media briefing held in Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees" today (17) MP Bandara has said United National Party will submit a motion to the Parliament on Monday regarding a vote of no confidence .

Addressing the Briefing UNP Minister Lakshman Kiriella has challenged the minority government led by Appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe to show their majority in Parliament on this Monday .

A Person Was Killed -Twenty Five Injured Due To Bus-Lorry Collision

A 35 year old person was killed and 25
others had been injured and hospitalized due to a Private Bus -Lorry collision in Alawwa -Thulhiriya road today (17).

The injured three of them Critically ,had been admitted to Warakapola Hospital for treatment and later three critically injured persons had transferred to Kegalle Teaching Hospital for further treatment .

The identity of the deceased has not yet been revealed .

President Says He Will Not Accept No Confidence Motion Passed Yesterday -MP Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana -President Still Not Send A Reply To Speaker's Letter

Although President Maithripala
Sirisena has still not officially commented or send a reply letter to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya whether he has accepted the no confidence motion passed yesrerday (17)in Parliament against minority government ,or not ,Minority government MP Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana has said President told them he will not accept the no confidence motion passed amidst opposition of minority government .

President has revealed this during a meeting held between minority government members and President at Presidential Secretariet last night (17)according to MP Abeywardana .

President has also Stressed he will never appointed Constitutionally elected Premier Ranil Wkiramasinghe for the premier post again.President has advised the minority government members to act calm and peaceful manner according to parliamentary traditions, inside Parliament  he has further said .

However MP Abeywardana has  not revealed whether the president has criticised the uncivilised behaviour of group of MP's and appointed Ministers of the minority government during yesterday's parliament session which  heavily criticised by local experts and  foreign Ambassadors .

Special Police Task Force(STF) Personal
deployed to provide special security to 30 government Ministries since last week will continue providing security to the Ministries according to Police Department.

STF Personal had been deployed in 30 Ministries under the instructions of Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Pujith Jayasundara  due to the present political situation in the country it has been announced.

However political sources have revealed the reason behind deploying of STF Personal in Ministries is to prevent Constitutionally elected United National Front government Ministers from entering their Ministries.
