Police Have Arrested Three Persons With 200 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis In Their Possession

Kalpitiya Police have arrested three persons with 200
Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in kolankanna area near the Wilpattu Wild Life sanctuary last evening (02).

The haul of Kerala Cannabis concealed in seven bags  and believed to be transported from India it has been reported.

The suspects who are in the ages of 29,32 and 45 and residents of Kalpitiya area are due to be produced before the Puttalam Magistrate Court today (03).


A Dead Body Of A Giant Whale Washed Ashore In Matara

A dead body of a Giant Whale believed to be died after colliding with a ship has been washed ashore in Kamburugamuwa ,Matara (Southern Province)last Monday (01)night it has been reported.

Mirissa Wild Life Conservation Officers are currently engaged in the process of removing the dead body of the Whale.

Asthma Is On The Increase In Sri Lanka-Chest Physicians

As a result of the enviornmental  pollution and direct
and passive smoking spreading of Asthma is on the increase throughout the world including in Sri Lanka according to the Chest Physician Dr.Geethal  Perera.

Around 2 million persons in Sri Lanka is estimated as living with Asthma and the disease is spreading among Adults as well as children he has stressed.

Addressing a Press Briefing held on Asthma and it's effects to the society yesterday (02)at Government Information Department,Narahenpita Dr.Perera has stated that most of the Asthma patients in Sri Lanka even lost their lives due to taking Salbutamol drug alone for  longer petiod without other drugs prescribed by the doctors for Asthma.

A large number of patients have been admitted to hospitals annually with complications due to this  poor medication and government spends a large amount of money to treat such patients Chest Physician Dr.Dushantha Madagedera has stressed while addressing the briefing.

Therefore Asthma patients should take Salbutamole drug  as per prescribed by a chest physician he said.

Workers at greater risk of heat stress include those who are 65 years of age or older, are overweight, have heart disease or high blood pressure, or take medications that may be affected by extreme heat.
Prevention of heat stress in workers is important. Employers should provide training to workers so they understand what heat stress is, how it affects their health and safety, and how it can be prevented.

Cause Of The Deaths Of Two Persons Who Participated In The Joint Opposition May Day Rally Identified As A Heatt Attack

The cause of the deaths of two elderly persons who died while Participating in the  May day rally of the Joint Opposition Group held in Galle Face Green in Colombo  yesterday (01)identified as a heart attack according to the post mortums conducted on them.

The two deceased persons from Kandy (80) and Nivithigala (62) have died while admitting to Colombo National Hospital .

Eight Families Removed From Meethotamulle Due To The Cracks Appeared On The Meethotamulle Garbage Mountain

Around eight families residing near the risk area of Meethotamulle Garbage Mountain in 101 watta(garden) Nagahamulle had been removed from their houses last night(01) by the authorities due to the cracks appeared on the mountain .

The eight families removed from the area are located in the newly built temporary shelters in Paddy Marketing Board stores complex in Meethotamulle.

Earlier the ten member Japanese Technical Expert Team visited the Meethotamulle Garbage Mountain have stated that there's a threat of collapsing the remained part of the Mountain due to the increase of Methane Gas in the air .

Two Motorcyclists Wearing Full Face Helmets Had Stolen Around Rs.3.1 Million In Horana

Image result for robberyTwo motorcyclists arrived in  wearing full face helmets have stolen around Rs. 3.1 million belongs to a private institution while Transporting the money through a van to deposit in a bank at aramagolla,Horana(western Province) this afternoon (02).

According to the Police the two robbers were equipped with a gun and wearing cloths similar to the Army Uniform.

Police have deployed several teams to arrest the suspects .

Unidentified Person/Persons Brutally Killed A Mother And Daughter In Hungama

Geology Department Of University Of Peradeniya Stated That There's A Danger Of Exploding The Gohagoda Garbage Mountain

The Ministry Of Provincial Council with the collaboration of University Of Peradeniya had launched an investigation to find out whether there is a crack on the Garbage Mountain which is around 40 years old .

The investigators are due to use a Drone Camera today(02) to inspect the Garbage Mountain .
