Sri Lankan Government Has Issued Orders To Courts In North To Release 106 Detained Indian Fishermen
Sri Lankan Government has issued orders to Courts in Northern Province on Monday(18)to release 106 Indian Fishermen who were detained while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan Waters.
The orders to release 55 detained Indian Fishermen have been issued to the Courts in Mannar and Jaffna (Northern Province) while the releasing process of remaining 51 detained Indian Fishermen is due to be completed soon according to the Authorities.
Most of these Indian Fishermen have been arrested since last November authorities have said.

Around 20,000 Sri Lankans Have Died Annually Due To The Illnesses Caused By Tobacco Smoking -Ministry Of Health
Around 20,000 Sri Lankans have died annually due to to the illnesses caused by Tobacco Smoking according to the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine.
As a measure of preventing these Deaths caused by Tobacco Smoking the Health Ministry has decided to take stern action against those who are importing Illegal Cigarette Packs to the country.
These illegal cigarette Packs which not even carrying pictorial warning messages on tobacco related diseases are being largely circulated among locals due to the lapses of legal system in the country the Ministry has said.
Colombo High Court Has Issued A Notice To Sri Lankan Motor Car Racing Driver Dilantha Malagamuwa
The Colombo High Court has today(18) issued a notice to Sri Lankan International Motor Car Racing Driver Dilanatha Malagamuwa to appear before the court on 23rd of March over a case filed against him by a Japanese National regarding the failure of Malagamuwa to settle his US Dollars 600,000 debt.
The notice was issued by the Colombo High Court today when the case against Malagamuwa has been taken up for hearing at the court.

Most of the essential Antibiotic Drugs in the local market have been increased between 200 -300% during last Six Months according to the Government Hospital Doctors.
Not Registering new imported drugs to Sri Lanka by the newly Formed Independent Drug Regulatory Authority and the rising value of the US Dollar against Sri Lankan Rupee are the main causes behind this huge increase of the prices of Drugs Doctors have said.
Due to this situation patients with economic difficulties have been experiencing enormous difficulties when purchasing these drugs from the Private Sector health sources said.

Sri Lanka Cricket Has Suspended The Services Of Fast Bowling Coach And A Bowler Of The Sri Lankan National Cricket Team Over An Alleged Match Fixing Scandal
Sri Lanka Cricket has today(18) suspended the services of Fast Bowling Coach of Sri Lankan National Cricket Team Anusha Samaranayake and Bowler Gayan Viswajith over an alleged match fixing scandal occurred during the First Test Against West Indies Played in Galle on last October.
The bowler Viswajith who is the main suspect of the Match Fixing Scandal has been also banned from entering the Sri Lanka Cricket Premises.
The Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division(FCID) has already began an Investigations regarding the alleged Match Fixing Scandal per the complaint lodged by Sports Minister Daysiri Jayasekera.
The Sri Lankan National Cricketer Thisara Perera had earlier informed the officials that some bookies have approached him and the off spinner Rangana Herath to under perform during the first Test Match played against West indies in Galle last October.
The FCID had already questioned Sri Lankan Opener Kusal Perera and Off Spinner Rangana Herath over the alleged Match Fixing Scandal and due to question Sri Lankan Captain Angelo Mathews and Team Manager Jerry Wouterz according to Sri Lanka Cricket.

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe Due To Leave For Switzerland Tomorrow(19)
Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe is due to leave for Switzerland tomorrow (19) to attend the World Economic Forum scheduled to be held in Davos-Klosters ,Switzerland from 20-23 rd of January.
During the visit Prime Minister Wikramasinghe is due to meet International Investors to get possible investments for Sri Lanka.
