Health Minister Has Banned The Utilizing Of World Bank Grant Provided For Combating Non Communicable Diseases In Sri Lanka For Foreign Tours And Parties
The Minister Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has strictly banned the Health Ministry Officials for utilizing a portion of 200 Million US Dollar grant provided by the World Bank to combat non communicable diseases in Sri Lanka for foreign tours and parties.
The Minister has personally instructed the Health Ministry Officials to utilize the World Bank Grant only for programmes designed to combat non communicable diseases in the country the Health Ministry Sources have said.
The World Bank has this year provided a grant of 200 Million US Dollars to Sri Lanka for combating the non communicable diseases in the country which are on the increase.

President Sirisena Has Invited German Investors To Invest In Sri Lanka To Take Advantage From The Growing Economic Opportunities
The visiting Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday(17) invited German Investors to invest in Sri Lanka to take an advantage from the increasing economic opportunities in the country.
Sri Lankan President has also requested the German Investors to interact with the Sri Lankan Business Delegation accompanied him on the tour for further investment opportunities in joint ventures.
President has made these remarks after met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and several other top officials of the German Government and Business Community in Berlin yesterday.
Term Of The Presidential Commission Of Inquiry Has Been Extended Up To 03rd Of March 2017
The term of the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry (PRECIFAC)appointed to investigate on large scale fraud activities of previous government has been extended by one year according to the secretary of the Commission Lacille De Silva.
Accordingly the term of the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry has been extended up to 03rd of March 2017.The current term of the Commission is due to be expired on 03rd of March this year.

New Zealand Prime Minister To Arrive Sri Lanka Next Week For A Three Day Official Visit
The New Zealand Prime Minister John Key is due to arrive Sri Lanka on 24th of February for a three day official visit.
The main aim of the New Zealand Prime Minister's visit to Sri Lanka is to strengthen commercial and political ties between Sri Lanka and New Zealand it has been announced.
During his visit Prime Minister Key will hold discussions with President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe as well as with some Businessman in the country to promote New Zealand's interest to investment in the country.

Imprisoned Former ASP Of Embilipitiya Has Been Re Remanded
The former Assistant Superintendent Of Police(ASP) Of Embilipitiya D.W.C Dharmaratne who had remanded over a death of a youth occurred at a party house in Embilipitiya recently has been further remanded today(17) until 02nd of March.
The Former ASP Dharamaratne has been re remanded after being produced before Embilipitiya Magistrate Court this morning.The suspect is at the Kuruwita Remand Prison.

Sri Lankan President Sirisena Has Met German Chancellor Angela Merkel
Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena who arrived Germany yesterday(16) for a three day state visit has met German Chancellor Angela Merkel one hour ago and hold bilateral talks according to reports.
During his visit the Sri Lankan President is also due to meet the Federal President of Germany Joachim Gauck and President (Speaker) of German Parliament "Bundestag" Professor Norbert Lamment .
President is due to leave Austria for a two day visit after the German Tour.

Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe Has Arrived At Colombo High Court To File Bail Application For His SON
The former president Mahinda Rajapakshe has arrived at Colombo High Court this morning with his Attorneys to file a bail application for his imprisoned son Yoshitha Rajapakshe who had been remanded for money laundering charges related to private television channel CSN along with four other persons.
The Bail Application filed by former president Mahinda Rajapakshe today with his Attorneys seeking the release of his son is to be considered on 29th of this month.
The former president Rajapakshe who himself a lawyer has arrived at Colombo High Court by wearing a black coat of lawyers it has been reported.
Yoshitha Rajapakshe and other four suspects have been remanded until 25th of February over money laundering charges.
