Four Persons Arrested Over An Obstructive Behaviour Against Rohingya Refugees Remanded Until 09th Of October

Four persons including a female who had been
arrested over an obstructive behaviour in front of a house in Mount Lavinia area where the Rohingya refugees of Myanmar were kept in ,have been remanded until the 09th of October by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate yesterday (01).

The suspects were produced before the court after being arrested on last Saturday.

The four suspects have been ordered to produced for an identification parade on 09th of october by the Magistrate.


A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A motorcyclist was killed due to a wild elephant attack
in namalgama,welikande area.

The 33 year old motorcyclist who was a resident of rideethanne area had been critically injured due to the wild elephant attack and succumbed to his injuries after admission to the welikande hospital.

Sixteen Persons Including School Children Have Been Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack

Sixteen  persons including twelve tea estate wotkers
attached to a loghill tea estate in Kotagala area and four school children have been injured and hospitalized due to a wasp attack last evening (30).

The injured have been admitted to the Kotagala provincial hospital for treatment and their condition is not serious according to reports.


A Turkish Youth Has Died Due To An Electrocution

A Turkish youth who was electrocuted while in a
panama  ship travelling from Iran to India has died after admission to the Hambanthota Base Hospital.

Sri Lanka Navy officers had taken him to ashore and admitted to the Hambanthota Hospital according to reports.

Second Heart Transplant Patient In Kandy Teaching Hospital Passed Away

The second person who had undergone a heart
transplant surgery at the Kandy Teaching Hospital 19 year old girl Sewwandi has passed away due to a heart failure as a result of an increased blood preassure of her lungs according to hospital sources.

Although the deceased girl had received a live heart to transplant from a brain death patient in Kandy hospital her surgery which was  due to be performed on 20th of September got delayed due to a problems arisen regarding surgical facilities among the surgeons it has been revealed.

After solving the issue as a result of  intervenetion by the Health authorities ,the Surgery of sewwandi had perfofmed a week later on 29th of september.However she has passedaway three days after the surgery due to the complications occurred while receiving treatment at Cardiac Intensive Care unit of Kandy hospital.

Two Persons Were Killed And Twenty Persons Have Been Injured Due To A Bus Accident In Haputale

Two persons were killed and twenty others were
injured ,ten of them critically and hospitalized after the Sri Lanka Transport Board (Langama) bus they were travelling in veering off the road and colliding with a stone bund in Udaviharagala area at Haputale it has been reported.

The injured have been admitted to Haputale District hospital for treatment and ten critically injured persons have been transferred to Diyatalawa Base hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the Bus travelling from Bandarawela to Marangahawela area and a Bus passanger identified as a police constable were killed due to the accident.

The accident has occurred due to the malfunctioning of the breaks in the Bus according to the Haputale police.


A Sudden Fire Caused An Extensive Damage To A Peoples Bank Building

An extensive damage has been  done due to a sudden
fire erupted in a peoples bank building at Balapitiya (Southern Province) this morning (01).

Fire brigade in Galle along with the police have doused the fire.

Money issuance counters and computers belonging to the Bank had been destroyed due to the fire it has been reported.

The cause of the fire has been identified as a electrical leak and no casualties had been reported according to the Ahungalla  police.


Two Buddhist Monks Belonging To Two Organizations Are Being Requested To Appear Before Colombo Crimes Division

Two buddhist monks belonging to "Sinhala Ravaya "
and "Sinhale Jathika Balawegaya 'organizations are being requested to appear before Colombo crimes division tomorrow (02)to get their statements regarding their obstructive behaviour in front of the house in Mount Lavinia where the Rohingya refugees of Myanmar kept in last tuesday (26).

Accordingly the president of Sinhala Ravaya organization venerable Akmeemana Dayaratne and General Secretary of Sinhalee Jathika Balawegaya organization Venerable Arambepola Ratanasara theros have been requested to appear before Colombo crimes division tomorrow according to Police headquarters.
