Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has this evening ordered the Police to submit a comprehensive report to  the Buddhist Thero's of Malwatta and Kotte Chapters  regarding the tense situation which occurred near Homagama Magistrate Court after the imprisonment of  Galagoda ththe Gnanasara Thero .

Around 200 Buddhist Bhikku's have been gathered in front of Homagama Magistrate Court to protest against the court's decision to imprison Gnanasara Thero.

Ministry Of Education To Make Compulsory For School Children To Participate In Sports Activities

The Ministry Of Education has decided to make compulsory for School Children to participate in Sports Activities in view of uplifting their physical and mental health according to Minister Of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.

Involving in any Sport Activity will help to prevent spreading of  non communicable diseases among School Children the Minister has said.

The Education Minister  has revealed these facts while participating in a programme held in Colombo  today (26)under the National Week declared for Sports And Physical Health Promotion which is currently underway.

The Surveys have been revealed that non communicable diseases among school children are on the increase.

Land Rover Defender Belonging To MP Hirunika Preamachandre Has Released On A Bond

The Land Rover Defender Vehicle belonging to MP Hirunika Premahandre which has been reported as used for an abduction of a Youth at Dematagoda(In Colombo) recently has today(26) released on a bond of Rs.4.5 Million .

The Colombo Additional Magistrate has released the defender vehicle when the  case regarding  abduction of the youth was taken up for hearing today.

Earlier MP Hirunika Pemachandre has  been arrested by Colombo Crimes Division over the abduction and later released on bail by Colombo Magistrate.

A Tense Situation Occurred After A Group Of Buddhist Monks Blocked The Road Near Homagama Magistrate Court

A tense situation has occurred infront of Homagama Magistarte Court shortwhile ago due to around 200 Buddhist Monks belonging to few Buddhist Organizations have gathered ther and protested over the arrest and imprisonment of Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero.

According to the reports the Buddhist Monks belonging to Bodu Bala Sena,Sinhala Ravaya and Ravana Balaya Organizations have blocked the road near Homagama Court Premises to prevent the leaving of prision bus carrying Gnanasara Thero.

Several Police Teams have been deployed near court premises to prevent any violent activity with a vehicle equipped with water cannon it has been reported.
 

Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Gnanasara Thero Has Been Arrested And Remanded Until 09th Of February

The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena Venerable Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero has been arrested this morning by the Homagama Police after he had surrendered to the Police per the arrest warrant issued against him by the court .

After being produced before Homagama Magistrate Court ,Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero has been remanded until 09th of February by the Magistrate.

The Homagama Magistrate has issued an arrest warrant against  Gnanasara Thero on the charge of threatening Sandya Eknaligoda the wife of missing cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligoda at court premises.
