Arjun Aloysius And Kasun Palisena Of Perpetual Treasuries Have Been Further Remanded

The two suspects have been produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate today .

Meanwhile a bail Application submitted by the two suspects had been rejected by a two Member Judge Panel comprising of chairman of the Court of Appeal Prethi Padman Surasena and Shiran Gunathilake today .

Ten Persons Have Been Sentenced To Death Over Killing Of Six Members Of A Same Family

Sapuvida has today (11)sentenced ten Persons to death over the killing of six persons of a same family at Dikwewa, Agunakolapalassa area twenty years ago.

Accordingly ten accused have been found guilty over the killing of six members in a same family on 18th of December 1998 at Dikwewa ,Agunakolapalassa area .

The ten accused have been produced before the Tangalle High Court today .

NBRO Has Extended The Landslide Warnings Issued To Galle And Kalutara Districts

Organization  (NBRO)has today (11)extended the Landslide warnings issued to Galle and Kalutara Districts for another 24 hours it has been announced .

Accordingly people living in Neluva,Thawalama,Nagoda,Elpitiya  ,Baddegama and yakkaladamUlla Divisional Secretariets in Galle and Horana, Walallawita, AgalaWatta, Bulathsinghala ,Dodangoda, Maduawala and Mathugama Divisional Secretariets should be vigilant over Landslide signs.

Meanwhile the Department of Meteorology has said that over 75 Mili Meter rain Can be expected in Kalutara and Ratnapura Districts and Southern Province today .


Police Begun Investigations On The Cloth Shop Fire In Battaramulla

Police have begun investigations over
the huge fire erupted in a Cloth Shop "Cool Planet" at Palawatte junction Battaramulla this morning (11).

Due to the fire The Cloth shop building was destroyed and the cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.

Transport activities of Battaramulla-Palawatte and Kottawa-Battaramulla roads have been blocked due to the fire .

Police Have Arrested A Pakistani National Staying In Sri Lanka Illegally Around 15 Years

Police have today (11)arrested a 56 year
old Pakistani National who has stayed in Sri Lanka around 15 years illegally without valid visas at a Hotel in Colpetty area(Colombo)
.
 All these years the  suspect had earned income through working in Night clubs of Colombo as a Casino broker it has been revealed.

The suspect is due to be produced before the court .

Supreme Court Had Rejected The Bail Application Of Former MP Duminda De Silva And Three Others Who Are In Death Row

Five member Judge Panel of the
Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Priyasad Depp had today (11)rejected the Bail Application submitted by former MP Duminda De  Silva and three others who are in the  death row over the killing of  former MP attached to  United National Freedom Party Alliance (UPFA) Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra ,by  requesting to exonerating them from all the charges and release .

The five Member Judge Panel had heard the Bail Application for nearly five months before delivering the verdict .However the Judge Panel had accepted the Bail Application of one of the security guards of former MP Duminda De Silva attached to Police Anura Thushara De Mel and released him after exonerate him from all the charges.

Five Persons including former MP Duminda De Silva had been sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court In 2015 over the killing of former MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra on 08th of October 2011 at Mulleriyawa area after hearing the case for several years . .


Huge Fire Erupted In A "Cool Planet"Cloth Shop In Battaramulla Had Been Doused

Fire brigades belonging to the Colombo Municipal Council ,Kotte Municipal Council and Dehiwala -Mount Lavinia Urban Council with the assistance of  Air force ,/Army , Police  officers and residents have doused a huge fire erupted in a Cloths store of "Cool Planet" Cloth Shop at Palawatte ,Battaramulla this morning (11)after struggling for six hours.

The Entire Building of the Cloth Shop has destroyed completely with Cloths and other gift items,Books etc in the shop due to the fire .However no  casualties have been reported due to the incident it has been revealed.

The sudden fire had been erupted in the Cloths Store around 11 a.m this morning and two fire trucks each belongs to the Colombo Municipal and Kotte Municipal Councils and a fire Truck belongs to Dehiwala -Mount LavinIa urban council and two fire trucks belongs to  Airforce had been involved in dousing the fire .

Airforce has used it's Bell-212 Helocopter to put water taken from Diyawanna oya to douse the fire according to reports.

Due to the fire Borella-KOttawa road (174 bus route ) had been completely closed for traffic this noon  as a safety messure and the  power supply to the area too was disconnected .

When the fire brigades prevent the spreading of the fire further in the front area of the cloth shop building the fire began from rare side of the building  again it has been reported.The fire had spread towards a near by Tyre shop also.

The fire had been doused completely  around 5 p.m this evening. .

The estimated value of the damage occurred as a result of the fire  has not yet  been revealed.
