Life Of A Giant Pearl Whale Had Saved By Navy Personal

Sri Lanka Navy Personal had saved the life of a Giant more than 25 feet long Pearl Whale who was found in  a dying situation at a sea coastal area of Alampil ,Mulathivu yesterday (10).

Around 30 Navy Personal attsched to the "Gotabaya" Navy camp have carried the Giant Pearl Whale known as an endangered species weighing around  1.5 tonnes, to the deep sea area with the help of ropes and a Navy Boat  and released him to the sea it has been revealed.

The whole process has taken around three hours to complete .

Only White Sambhur Left At Sinharaja Forest Had Shot And Killed

The only white Sambhur left in historical Sinharaja Rain forest reserve had shot and killed by an unidentified group of persons today (11) at a Tea Estate near the reserve it has been reported.

"White Sambhurs are considered as  rare Endangered species. The body of the White Sambhur had first seen by residents of the area and they have afterwards informed the Wild Life officers on the incident.

Wild Life officers are conducting an investigations over the incident.

A Year Seven School Girl Got Injured And Hospitalized After Her Skirt Got Caught To The Fire

A year seven school girl attached to
Campion Tamil School at Bagawanthalawa area had been critically injured with serious burn injuries and hospitalized after her skirt got caught to the fire while at home this evening  (11).

The school girl"s skirt caught fire while she was near a hearth at kitchen and due to her screem ,residents of the area arrived at the scene and doused the fire .The injured girl was admitted to the Bagawanthalawa Provincial Hospital for treatment .

The victim and her sister were at home at the time of the incident and their father working in the garden it has been revealed.

Navy Have Arrested Three Persons With 118 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala CANNABIS

Sri lanka Navy have arrested three
Persons with 118 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in possession while transporting the stock of Cannabis to Sri Lanka from a Boat yesterday (10).

The suspects who are residents of Jaffna of the ages 29-32 year had purchased the stock of Kerala Cannabis from Indian Drug Smugglers and attempted to smuggle in to Sri Lanka according to Navy.

The estimated value of the stock of Kerala Cannabis taken in to custody in possession of the suspects is around Rs.10.5 Million  .

Navy have handed over the suspects to Kankasanthurai Police for further investigations. They are due to be  produced before Mallakam Magistrate Court.

A 18 Year Old Student Has Drowned In Kelaniya River

A 18 year Collage student of Gonakale
Collage ,Passara  has drowned while bathing in Kelani River yesterday (10).

The drowned Srudent who had accompanied a Team of Volleyball players of his school to the All Ceylon School Volleyball Championships held at Ruwanwella,Rajasinghe Collage ,has drowned while bathing in the river during the Championships.

Police are conducting investigations over the incident. 

IGP Ordered CID To Investigate On US Dollars 5.5 Million Financial Fraud At Sri Lanka Cricket

Jayasundara has today (11)ordered the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)to investigate on the complaint over  US Dollars 5.5 million fraud occurred at the Accounts section of Sri Lanka Cricket .

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sri Lanka Cricket Ashley De Silva has made a complaint on the fraud activity to the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) yesterday  (10).

According to the complaint the head of the Accounts Section of Sri Lanka Cricket had attempted to credit US Dollars 5.5 million received from a Television Channal to Sri Lanka Cricket over telecasting rights of forthcoming Sri Lanka -England cricket series,  to his account .

The CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket has made the complaint to the FCID as per the instructions of Sports Minister Faizer Musthapha.

More Than Thirty Houses Partially Damaged In Anuradhapura Due To Strong Winds

More than 30 houses had been partially damaged and few houses were fully damaged due to a strong winds blown away across  Anuradhapura District last evening (10) according to Disaster Management Center.

Accordingly several houses in Degan Halmillawa,-Kahatagasdigiliya  Anuradhapura area had been damaged and the residents of these houses were moved to safe places ,the  Center has stated .

However no casualty has been reported due to the incident .

Tree falls,Road blocks ,Water supply and Electricity cuts had been reported from several areas in Anuradhapura as a result of the strong winds prevailed in yesterday .

Nine Illegal Sri Lankan Migrants Expelled From Australia Arrived At Katunayake Airport

Australian Government had expelled
Nine Illegally migrated Sri Lankan males  to Sri Lanka.

A special flight arrived in from Australia had brought the group of Sri Lankan male migrants  expelled from Australia to Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport this morning  (11).A large number of Australian Security Personal had accompanied the group of migrants to Sri Lanka.

The group of Migrants who are residents of Vavuniya and Jaffna were handed over to the Immigration and Emigration officials and later they were handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)officials attached to Katunayake Airport and National Intelligence Unit for further investigations .

Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC)Has Also Increased Fuel Prices

Lanka Indian Oil Company (LOIC) has
also increased the prices of Petrol and Diesel with effect  from midnight last night  (10) coincides with the Fuel price increase implemented by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation  (CPC).

Accordingly a Liter of 92 and 95 Octane Petrol of LIOC  had been increased to Rs.150 and Rs.164 respectively .These prices however higher than the CPC Petrol prices it has been revealed.A liter of LIOC Euro Three Petrol has been increased to Rs.153.

As per the price increase implemented since last night the price of a Liter of Auto Diesel , Super Diesel and Extra Oil Diesel  of LIOC has been increased to Rs.123, Rs.133  and Rs.127 respectively same as prices of CPC.

Ninety Illegal Sri Lankan Emigrants Were Arrested While Sailing In A Boat

Sri Lanka Navy have today (11) taken in
to custody 90 Sri Lankan Illegal Emigrants while sailing to Reunion Island of Madagascar via sea from a trawler  Boat at western seas in Negambo .

The Emigrants are residents of Matale,Mannar,Udappuwa,Batticaloa and Chilaw areas and there were only one female among them.

Two night petrol Boats of Sri Lanka Navy had detected the suspicious boat first.Navy Officers had brought the Boat with illegal Emigrants to Colombo Harbour .
