Navy Have Arrested Five Indian Fishermen While Illegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters
Sri Lanka Navy personal have arrested five Indian
fishermen while fishing illegally in Sri Lankan waters north of Kachchativu island along with their boat.
The arrested fishermen along with their boat are due to be handed over to the assistant director of fisheries in Jaffna for future course of action the Navy has stated.

Ministry Of Health Considering The Use Of A Bacteria Developed In Australia To Destroy Dengue Mosquito Lavae
Ministry of Health is considering the use of the new
bacteria developed in Australia to destroy Dengue Mosquito Lavae,here in Sri Lanka.
The bactetria has the capability of reducing the poisonous substance of the mosquito lavae Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has stated.
The researchers of Monash University in Australia are due to experiment the bactetia here and if succeed the bacteria will be used in Sri Lanka soon to destroy the Dengue Mosquito Lavae Minister has stressed.
The Foreign Minister of Australia is due to arrive in Sri Lanka next month to discuss on the using of this bacteria here he has stressed.

Several Familes Have Been Evacuated Due To A Landslide In Ehaliyagoda Area
Several familes living in Kirillwala mountain at
Karandana,Ehaliagoda have been evacuated due to a landslide occurred in the mountain according to the Disaster Mansgement Center.
The evacuated families have been moved to safe places the Center has stated.
Due to the heavy showers prevailing in seven districts ,the National Building Research Organization(NBRO) has issued landslide warnings to those districts since last May.
Accordingly the NBRO has extended the landslide warnings issued to Ratnapura , Kagalle, Kalutara, Galle,Marara ,Hambanthota and Nuwara Eliya Districts for another 24 hours and advised the residents in these Districts to be vigilant over the signs of landslides.

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe Has Instructed The Municipal Commissioner To Remove Collected Garbage In Colombo Roads
Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has today
(18)instructed the Colombo Municip al Commissioner to remove the garbage and solid waste mounds collected in Colombo Roads these days as soon as possible .
Prime Minister has instructed on this after inspecting few garbage mounds in Colombo roads today (18).
Premier stressed the need of maintaining garbage disposal sites in proper mannner.
Some collected garbage mounds in Colombo roads have not been removed from weeks it has been revealed.
Health Authorities have warned that there is a threat of spreading Dengue rapidly due to the collected garbage mounds in Colombo roads.

Around 94 Health Institutions Have Been Damaged Due To Recent Adverse Weather
Around 94 Government Health Institutions in four
districts including General,Base and Rural Hospitals have been damaged due to the recent floods and landlides according to the Ministry Of Health.
Accordingly 94 Health Institutions in Ratnapura, Galle,Matara and Kalutara Districts have been damaged including the Hospital Equipment due to the floods and landslides.Some of these Institutions have temporarily shifted to other places Ministry has stressed.
More than Rs.570 million needed to renovate the damaged Health Institutions the Ministry has stated.
