Sports Investigations Body Investigating Over 2011 World Cup Final Match Fixing Allegations Has Closed The Investigations

The Sports Irregularities Investigation

Unit of the Sports Ministry which began an inquiry over the complaint made by former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage charging the ICC World Cup Cricket match final between Sri Lanka and India in 2011 has been fixed ,had decided yesterday (03) to close the inquiry due to the lack of evidence available to prove the allegation ,the Police Media Spokesman Senior Supirintendent of Police Jaliya Senaratne has stated .

Former Sports Minister Alitugamage who.is the Mimister of current government as well had submitted a complaint to the Sports investigation body of the Sports Ministry that the World Cup Cricket final in.2011 between Sri Lanka and India held in India has been fixed .

However he has stated that non of the Sri Lankan Cricketers played in that match have been involved in fixing the match which was earlier turned in favour of Sri LANKA and then won by India at the end.

The report regarding the progress of the inquiry has been scheduled to be handed over to the authorities yesterday (03).

Sports Investigations body had recorded statements from the former Chairman of the Cricket Selection committe during the 2011 world cup Aravinda De Silva ,The Cricket captain then Kumar Sangakkara and former Cricketer who had played the 2011 world cup final Upul tharanga regarding the allegation.

The deputy captain of the team at that time Mahela Jayawardana was also scheduled to be given a statement to the investigation body yesterday ,However he was requested not to come as the body has decided to close the investigations due to lack of evidence.

(CID)Officers had visited the residence of former Prime minister and the leader of the United National Party (UNP) Ranil Wikramasinghe yesterday (03)and recorded a four hour statement from the UNP Leader regarding the Central Bank Bond Scam.

The team of CID Officers had visited the UNP Leader's house in Colombo as a result of an advise given by Attorney General Dappula De Livera to the Acting Inspector General Of Police (IGP )Chandana Wikramaratna to do so it has been reported.

Attorney General had advised the Acting IGP on 18 th of June to record statements from Former Prime Minister Ranil Wilramasinghe and Former President Maithripala Sirisena over the Central Bank Bond Scam incident Occured during the previous good governance government.

A Sea Guard At Jinthupitiya, Colombo Tested Positive For Corona Virus Whilst Under Home Quarantine -154 Persons Around Him Had Been sent For Quarantine

A local Sea Guard had been tested

positive for Corona virus yesterday(02) whilst on self quarantine at his house in Jinthupitiya ,Colombo after undergone a 14 day quarantine process at a Quarantine Center it has been announced .

The Sea Guard who is tested positive for Corona virus had been admitted to Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) ,in Angoda for treatment .He had completed a full 14 day quarantine process earlier at a quarantine Center soon after his arrival From India ,However tested negative for corona virus during his stay at the center according to sources.

After releasing from the Quarantine center the Sea Guard had begun another 14 day self quarantine process at home and during this process he had tested positive for the virus when a "PCR "Test was performed on him, the Health authorities have stated .

A total of 154 contacts of him at his home in Jinthupitiya and houses around had been sent to a Quarantine center for quarantine to avoid spreading Corona virus in the area the authorities have said .

However there's no threat of a Community transmission of the Corona virus here due to this incident the Epidemeology Unit has stated .

Another 36 Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Today (03)

A total of 36 Corona positives had been

discharged from hospitals today (03)after full recovery according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly 1863 Corona positives had been discharged so far after full recovery in the country .

Three Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (03)

Three Persons Had been tested positive

for Corona virus in the country today (03),Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported from here so far to 2069 according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly out of the three Corona positives reported today ,two were arrivals of Madagascar and one from Maldives .

The total number of Corona positives are being treated in Government Hospitals at the moment is 195 .
