Tusker NADUNGAMUWE RAJA Is Not Participate In The Esala Procession Due To Health Reasons -Diyawadana Nilame
Addressing a Press briefing held in Kandy he has stated that this year Tusker "IndiRaja "will carry the Sacred relics in the procession. Around 70 Elephants are due to participate this year's Procession which begins this Monday Diyawadana Nilame has said .
An Iranian Female Was Arrested With Fake German Passport And Deported

Department Officials have yesterday (02) arrested an Iranian Female who had attempted to flying to New Zealand via Katunayake,Bandananaike International Airport by using fraudulent German passport at Katunayake Airport.
The suspected female had arrived at Katunayake Airport from Istanbul ,Turkey through a Turkish Airways flight .After the arrival she has obtained visas and planned to depart to New zealand .
However when The immigration and Emigration officials checked her passport through International police data system it has been revealed that it is a misplaced passport belonging to a German female. The real owner of the Passport had visited Sri Lanka in 2016 according to reports .The Iranian Female had fraudulently used her photograph in the passport according to officials .
Afterwards Immigration and Emigration officials had recovered details of a large scale Human smuggling business transporting Iranian Nationals to New Zealand via Katunayake Airport and as a result expelled the suspected female to Istanbul Turkey via a Turkish Airlines Flight.
Thousands of Iranian Nationals Had migrated to New Zealand via Katunayake Airport as refugees and got the citizenship of that country too it has been revealed through the investigations.

Central Province Governor Has Resigned From His Post
The Governor of the Central Province Maithree Gunarathne has resigned from his post today (03) and handed over his resignation letter to the Presidential Secretariat it has been revealed. The Central Province governor has resigned from his post accordance to a request made by President Maithripala Sirisena according to reports.President has also requested Southern Province Governor Keerthi Thennnakoon to resign from his post as well and after his resignation President has planned to appoint former Central Province governor Maithree Gunarathne as new Governor of Southern Province and Southern Province Governor Keerthi Thennakoon as the Central Province governor .
Earlier Uva Province Governor Marshal Perera has resigned from his post .
A 44 Year Old Chief Jailer Of Welikada Prison Training School Was Shot And Killed
The 44 year old Chief Jailer attached to the Training School of Colombo Welikada Prison was shot and killed by an unidentified gunmen this evening (03) whilst on the way home from a Motorcycle at Kuligoda Junction in Aambalangoda according to Ambalangoda Police. The Jailer was shot by two unidentified gunmen arrived in from a Motorcycle and he had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Balapitiya Base Hospital in critically condition .
The incident occurred when the Chief Jailer had arrived in Ambalangoda from Train and then riding his Motorcyle towards his home at Kuligoda ,Ambalangoda .
Ambalangoda Police along with Special Crimes Investigations Unit of Elpitiya Police are conducting an inquiry on the incident .
A Fire Erupted In Soyzapura Flats
A Sudden fire has been erupted at one of a Block Buildings in Soyzapura Flats ,Moratuwa this noon (03)it has been reported.Two fire trucks belonging to the fire brigade of Moratuwa Municipal Council are being deployed to douse the fire .The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.

Local Milk Powder Manufacturers are also seeking a Price increase of their products following the price increase of Imported Milk Powders with effect from midnight Last Thursday (01).Some Local Milk Powder producers like Plawatte Milk Powder Company has already conducted discussions with government authorities regarding this it has been revealed.It is expected to revise Local Milk Powder prices as well during next week according to reports .
Consumer Affairs Authority has given approval to increase Imported Milk Powders that produced after 01st of August 2019 by Rs.15 for 01 Kilo Gramme and Rs.5 for 400 grammes .This price increase does not affect those imported Milk Powders that are already in the market produced before the 01st of August the authority has stated .
Floating Armory Case-Attorney General Has Ordered The Acting IGP To Arrest Avant-Guard Chairman And Seven Others
Attorney General had ordered the arrest of Avant-Guarde chairman and seven others following the Criminal Investigations Department's (CID) information saying two suspects of the case including Avant-Guarde Chairman Senadhipathi had left the country before the dismissal of five fundamental rights petitions submitted to the Supreme court seeking an order to prevent them being arrested .
CID Officers Arrested 09 Persons With A Stock Of Gold Chains At Katunayake Airport
The suspects who had arrived in from Thailand from Thai Airways flight are residents of Nittambuwa,Gampha,Kirindiwela ,Mount Lavinia and Yakkala areas believes to be brought the stock of Gold chains from Thailand in view of selling it to the Gold Businessmen here it has been revealed .
The stock of Gold chains taken into custody in possession of the suspects are estimated as worth around Rs.20.8 million and the stock along with the suspects had been handed over to the Airport Customs for further investigations .

The planting of "a traditional "Kap " prior to the procession has been held in an auspicious time fell last morning (02) at four devala's Vishnu,Natha,Kataragama and Paththini with the presence of all Basnayaka Nilame's representing four devala's .
The Esala Procession which has been named as very attractive traditional event by the International Media will begin it's street procession on Monday night and the final round of the procession known as "Randoli" will be held on 14th of August .

Veteran Actress Sabeetha Perera Had Given Evidence Before The Police Unit Of Presidential Commission
Veteran Popular Actress Sabeetha Perera had given a statement for nearly two and half hours before the Police Unit of Special Presidential Commission probing Fraud and Corruption of Sate Institutions last Thursday (01) over the charges on financial irregularities occurred when handing over her Private Building at Battaramulla to the Ministry Of Agriculture on rental basis .Earlier she had requested the Commission to give another date for her to give an evidence and as a result the Commission had informed her to come on Monday .However the Veteran Actress who had signed the contract with Ministry Of Agriculture when handing over her building to the Ministry for a monthly rental of Rs.21 Million ,had appeared before the Police unit of the Presidential Commission Last Thursday evening and gave evidence.
