Two Minor Nurses Unions Launched An Unsuccessful Island Wide Strike Demanding Solutions For 5 Demands

Two minor Nurses Unions have launched an unsuccessful island wide strike today (15) by demanding solutions for 5 nurses demands according to government hospital sources.the sources confirmed that the launched strike has seen as an unsuccessful one due to the non participation of country's largest nurses union Public Services United Nurses Union lead by Venerable Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero.

However the striking unions ,All Ceylon Nurses Union and Government Nursing Officers Union declared their strike action as a very successful one even after hospital directors stressed that majority of 29,000 nurses served in government hospitals have reported to work today.

Meanwhile while stressing the strike was unsuccessful one the leader of largest nurses union Muruththettuwe Thero has said that his union already manged to get solution for the most of the burning demands presented by striking unions through negotiations with the treasury secretary.
