Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka Remanded Until Tomorrow(19)

Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka who had been arrested few hours ago over an accident occurred at Rajagiriya area by Colombo crimes Division  in 2016,had been remanded until tomorrow(19)after been produced before the Colombo Fort chief Magistrate court .

The former minister had been produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court around 9.30 p.m .

However media was not allowed to enter the court premises to cover the court proceedings .

Former Minister Patali Champika Ranwaka Had Been Arrested Over An Accident

Crimes Division (CCD) had arrested the former Minister of Megapolis of the previous good governance government Patali Champika Ranawaka at his house in Colombo few hours ago over critically  injuring a youth from a car driven by him and escaped  from police by producing another driver in 2016.

CCD Officers had arrested the former Minister on the instructions made by Attorny General Dappula De Livera to the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG)  of Colombo. It has been reported

Police officers went to the house of MP Ranawaka and made the arrest.MP has opposed the arrest by saying that Police could not  arrest a MP without a permission of Parliament Speaker .

Later the officers had informed the Deputy speaker and arrested MP Ranawaka according to reports.

MP Ranawake had brought to  CCD And scheduled to be produced before the court.
