CID Has Questioned Former Navy Commander For Eight Hours Over The Disappearence Of 11 Youth
Criminal Investigations Department
(CID)has yesterday(11)questioned former Navy Commander Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda around 08 hours over the charges levelled against him on abduction and dissapearence of 11 youth resided in Colombo and suburbs in 2008.
Admiral Karannagoda has obtained a court order from Supreme court on 07th of March to prevent CID From arresting him over the charges.Court has issued the order after considering a fundamental rights petition filed by former Navy commander .
Supreme Court has also orfered Admiral to appear before CID yesterday to record his statement over the charges against him.

Liquid Milk Production Of The Country Not Sufficient To Provide A Glass Of Milk Daily To Rural School Children -Patients Safety National Organization
The Organization has stressed that the country's liquid Milk production is only able to meet 10-15 percent of the total Milk demand of the country and around 200,000 liters of liquid Milk need to provide a 200 Mili liter Glass of Milk daily for rural school children numbering one million as proposed through the annual budget this year.
Therefore it is questionable how can the government provide a glass of liquid Milk to school children at this stage .If the government is planning to provide the Milk glass by using imported Milk powder we will oppose the move as there's a quality problem in imported Milk powder the secretary of the Organization Dammika Edirisinghe has said.
GMOA Leader Wants Government To Provide "Kola Kanda"Or Jack Seeds To School Children-Health Minister

Officers Association (GMOA)has mislead the public by saying School children should be provided with either "Kola Kanda"(Herbal Cunjee) or jack seeds as Liquid milk is not suitable for them according to Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Health Minister has questioned whether the GMOA leader who had made this statement after meeting the opposition leader Mahinda Rajapakshe following the Budget, had attempted to provide Jack seeds to his children.
Addressing a function held at Padaviya Hospital recently ,Health Minister has stated that GMOA Leader thinks people in the country is living in feudal era .

Price Revision Of Fuel Has Not Yet Been Announced As Planned

be implemented with effect from midnight tonight (11)accirdance to the price formula will not be imolemented as planned according to Ministry of Finance .

Two Persons Arrested With More Than 167 Kilo Grammes Of Heroin

had today (11)arrested two persons with more then 167 Kilo Grammes of Heroin at a house in Rawatawatta,Moratuwa .
The house was raided as it has been revealed during investigations that the suspect "Kawuma' allias Kalum Indika who was arrested on 05 th March over stealing Rs.5000 million worth Blue diamond had stayed at the house according to police.2803 T-56 Live bullets and a fure arm had been also taken into custody from the house during the raid .
The estimated value of the haul of Heroin taken into custody in possession of the suspects is around Rs.5000 million Police have stressed.
The suspect "Kawuma"had been remanded until 22nd of March over the stealing of Blue diamond from pannipitiya .The suspect who is a close aide of Drug kingpin Makandure Madush who was arrested in Dubai ,had been arrested at a house in Keselwatta,Panadura .

A Wild Elephant And A Cab Assistant Had Been Killed Due To Cab-Elephant Collision
A Wild Elephant and a 28 year old Cab
assistant had been killed and a Cab driver had been critically injured and hospitalized after a Cab transporting vegetables from Dambulla colliding with a Wild Elephant crossing the road at Elephantpass in 14 th post ,Karuwalagaswewa on Puttalam-Anuradhapura main road this morning(11).
The Cab assistant has died on the spot after Elephant had fallen on the Cab and the Wild Elephant had succumbed to his injuries whilst receiving treatment .
The Elephant had stood up following the incident and attempted to walk ,However soon he had fallen down after collapsing against a lamp post .
Veterinary staff in North-western province who had treated the Wild Elephant have attempted to save his life however he has breathed his last this noon it has been reported.
Although Wild Life Department along with police have displayed placards near the Elephantpass indicating the place ,Drivers are driving vehicles in high speed passing the area without considering it according to police.
