All The Three Wheelers To Have A Meter With Bill Issuing Facility With Effect From Today (20)

All the Three Wheeler's that are currently running in the roads in Sri Lanka should have a meter with a bill issuing facility with effect from today(20) according to the National Council Of Road Safety Dr.Sisira Kodagoda.

The six month period given to the Three Wheeler Drivers to fix a Meter to their Three Wheeler's with bill issuing facility  has ended 01st of April and those Three Wheeler drivers who are not able to issue a bill to their customers after a journey  will be punished he has stated.

However even today many Three Wheeler's have seen in the roads that are running without meters it has been reported.

Two Seargents Were Killed due to Vehicle Collision

A Police sergeant and an Army
 Sergeant were killed after colliding the Motorcycles they were travelling ,face to face at meegahawela junction at Bothalegama in Koswatta last
evening(18).

The critically injured two Sergeants had prono unced as dead after admission to Marawila District hospital.

The  deceased Army sergeant and Police Sergeant  were residents of  Koswatte and Meegahakiwula areas it has been revealed.

Gold Prices Increased Due To New Imported Tarrif

The prices of 22 and 24 Carrot Gold in
the local market have been increased by Rs.6000 and Rs.7000 respectively following the imposing of 15 percent tarrif over Imported Gold by the Ministry of Finance it has been reported.

Accordinhly the new increased price of 22 carrot gold is around Rs.57,000 and the price of 24 Carrot Gold is around Rs.62,000.

Two Persons Arrested With 600 Tablets Of " Tramadol"

Police have arrested two persons with a
600 tablets of medicinal drug "Tramadol" which can be used as a narcotic as well in their possession at Thambuttegama area in Anuradhapura today(19).

The suspects are residents of Badulla and Kekirawa areas.

Manager Of The Rubber Manufacturing Factory Was Arrested Over The Five Deaths Occured In Ammonia Tank

Horana police have today (19)arrested
the Manager of the Rubber Manufacturing Factory in Ballapitiya,Horana where five of the workers have died after falling to the Ammonia Tank of the factory , over not adopting safety measures .

He is due to be produced before the court.

The Rubber Msnufacturing Factory has not adopted safety measures when disposing waste water of  Rubber production process according to Police.

A worker attached to the factory had fallen to the Ammonia Tank while atempting to open the waste water pipe and fifteen others had fainted after inhalation of Ammonia while attempting to save the worker who had fallen to the tank it has been revealed.

Five of the workers died as a result of the incident and fifteen others including females have been hospitalized due to inhalation of Ammonia gas.Out of the persons hospitalized the condition of one is critical it has been reported.

Mirissa Hotel Where The Female Dutch Tourist Who Was Molested Stayed In ,Ordrered To Close

Tourism Development Authority had
instructed the management of the Tourist Hotel in Mirissa,Weligama where the victims ,A Dutch female who was sexually molested and few other Dutch and British tourists who were assaulted have stayed  .

The decision has been taken to close the hotel until an inquiry on the hotel is completed  as it has been revealed that the Hotel which running since  2011 not  obtained  a valid  licence from the Tourism Developmemt Authority.

Puttalam-Old Mannar Road Had Submerged Due To Opening Of Spill Gates In Angamuwa Tank

Puttalam-Old Mannar road had been temporarily closed this morning(19) due to the road was submerged from Eluwankulama area as a result of opening the spill gates of Angamuwa Tank  it has been reported.

Due to the closure of the road transport activities of the Road had collapsed during the day according to reports.The Puttalam-Old Mannar Road has been submerged with water  around two feet  high .

Police Have So Far Arrested 13 Persons Over Molesting A Dutch Female And Attacking Few Dutch Tourists

Accordingly 09 suspects are due to be produced before an identification parade over the incident at Matara Magistrate Court.

A 68 year old female was killed and five other persons were injured and hospitalized after the Three Wheeler and a Private Bus they were traveling  colliding each other at Gomarankadawala area on Trincomalee-Thiriyaya main road today(19).Image result for accident

The injured including the Three Wheeler Driver .Four others in the Three Wheeler and a Bus passenger have been admitted to the Gomarankadawala Hospital for treatment.

Government Has Cancelled The Holiday Falls On 01st Of May

Government has declared 07th of May as an alternative May Day holiday for  Government.Bank and Mercantile sectors .May day celebrations are due to take place on that day it has been announced.

The 01st of May holiday was cancelled as per requests made by Buddhist Clergy in view of Vesak Week.

Five Workers Have Died And Fifteen Hospitalized Due To Ammonia Inhalation In A Rubber Factory

Image result for hospitalizedFive workers  attached to a Rubber Manufacturing Factory at Ballapitiya in  Horana,Kalutara have died and another fifteen were developed breathing difficulties and hospitalized due to inhaling of colorless Ammonia Gas while attempting to save a person who had fallen to the Ammonia Tank in the factory this noon(19).

Around 20 persons have been fainted as a result of inhalation of Ammonia at the Tank and they have been admitted to the Horana Hospital with severe breathing difficulties ,where five of them had declared as dead after admission to the Hospital according to the Police.

Another fifteen persons are still receiving treatment at the hospital and the condition of one is critical it has been revealed.
