The price of a 450 gramme loaf of bread is increased by Rs.2 with effect from midnight today (29) according to All ceylon Bakers Association.the price of bread was increased following the increasing of wheat flour by Prima and Serandib Mills from Rs.6 and Rs.4 respectively.Due to the new price increase the price of a loaf of bread will goes up by Rs.2 from the current prices between Rs.55-60.the Bakery Association has stated that due to the higher costs and income losses around 2000 bakeries out of 7000 bakeries island wide were already closed .
