Buddhists Around The World Celebrates The Birth Of Lord Buddha


Millions of Buddhists around the world Celebrated the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day yesterday which mark the Birth,Enlightenment and the Demise of the Lord Buddha the Founder of Buddhism.Thousands of devotees yesterday gathered at the Temples throughout Sri Lanka to conduct religious activities to mark this occasion.

Besides Religious Activities Pandals and Lanterns which shown the Various Buddhist Stories related to the Previous Births of Lord Buddha were built throughout the country and Alms giving centers known as "Dansala's" provide the people who are visiting to see these Vesak Pandals Meals including Rice,Coffee,Soft Drinks and Sweet Meets.Buddhist families decorated their gardens with paper buckets lighten with candles and various shapes of lanterns and colored bulbs to mark the Vesak.

Even in the former rebel held areas in the North Army Personnale have been conducting Dansala's provide the visitors with Soft Drinks.

LTTE Shot At A Group Of Civilians Tried To Escape From The Area

LTTE shown their cruelty again by shooting a group of trapped Civilians who tried to escape from the rebel held territory last night.One Body and Twelve other injured were rushed to the Anuradhapura General Hospital.
