MP Udaya Gammanpila Has Been Released On Bail Regarding A Case Against Him On Selling Shares On Fraudulent Means
The Colombo High Court has yesterday (11) released the leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya Party MP Udaya Gammanpila on bail regarding a case filed against him on the charges of selling shares of an Australian Company by using a fraudulent power of attorney licence.
Accordingly the suspected|MP has been released on two personal bails of Rs.2 million each and a cash bail of Rs.500,000 when the case was taken up for hearing yesterday (11).

Around 300 Acres Of Sugar-Cane Cultivation Land In Sevanagala Destroyed Due To A Fire
Around 300 acres of land belonging to Sugarcane Cultivation Land in Sevanagala Area had been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted there last afternoon it has been reported.
Police with the assistance of residents in the area have doused the fire.

Customs Officers Have Arrested Two Youth With 400 Cartons Of Cigarettes At Katunayake Air Port
Air Port Customs Officers have today (11)arrested two youth with 400 Cigarette Cartons worth around Rs.4 million in their possession at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Air Port.
The suspects who were arrived in Katunayake Air Port from Abudhabi concealed 400 cartons of Cigarettes belonging to six varieties made in Turkey and Germany inside their luggage according to the Customs Officers.
The arrested stock of Cigarette Cartons have been confiscated and Customs Officers are questioning the suspects at present it has been reported.

Second And Third Year Faculties Of University Of Uva-Wellassa Have Closed Due To A Water Shortage
Authorities of the University of Uva-Wellassa had today (11) decided to close all the second and third year faculties of the University with immediatte effect for a one week period due to the severe water shortage prevails in the area at present.
As a result of the current drought students attached to the Uva-Wellassa University have faced a severe shortage water it has been reported.
However the first and fourth year faculties of the University remain opened the University Authorities have announced.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Fined Cricketer Ramith Rambukwella Over A Car Crash
The Colombo Additional Magistrate Court has today (11) imposed a Rs.29,000 fine on the son of former Minister Keheliya Ramukwella and a Cricketer Ramith Rambukwella on charges of involved in a Road Accident under the influence of liquor.
The fine was imposed when the suspect had appeared before the Colombo Additional Magistrate Court this evening.
Ramith Rambukwella was earlier arrested and remanded by the Police on 22nd of September following his car crashed into a wall at independance square in Colombo-07.However he was later released on police bail.

Authorities Have Temporarily Closed Four Schools In Badulla Due To A Smoke In Garbage Dump
Uva Provincial Educational Authorities have today (11) temporarily closed Four Schools in Badulla Education Division due to a smoke occurred as a result of a fire broke out three days ago in a garbage dump near by.
Accordingly Dharmadutha Collage in Badulla,Uva Maha Vidyalaya,Al Adhan Maha Vidyalaya and Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya have closed by the authorities.
The reopening dates of those Schools will be anounced later the Uva Provincial Educational Authorities have stated.

Residents Protest Caused A Heavy Traffic In Ja Ela This Morning
A heavy traffic has been reported on Negambo-Colombo Road this morning due to a protest campaign held by the residents in Ja Ela by blocking the Road near the Ja Ela junction against the decision taken by authorities to shift the Meethotamulla Garbage Dump to an abandoned private land at Ekala Ja Ela(Western Province).
Due to the traffic the Police have advised the motorists to use an alternative routes it has been reported.
The Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils has eatlier announced that a licence is due to be obtained to shift the Meethotamulla Garbage Dump to a land in Ekala Ja Ela.
Meanwhile government has recenyly agreed the proposal made by a British Private Company on allowing them to take the garbage at Meethotamulla Garbage Dump after dividing the garbage to Britain for recycling process.

Singer And Actor "Chili "Was Arrested And Remanded Over Assaulting A Person
Singer and actor who is popular among a section of Western type youth in the country Thilanka Vidusha allias " Chili"has been arrested and remanded today(11) over assaulting a 57 year old Three Wheeler Driver at Palawatte in Battaramulla(Western Province) three days ago.
"Chili" who had disappeared for two days after the assault arrived in Thalangama Police this morning to give a statement regarding the incident and after the statement was made Police have arrested him.
He was remanded until 25th of October by the Kaduwela Magistrate Court after been produced him before the court this evening.
Three days ago the suspect had assaulted a three wheeler Driver under the influence of liquor over a dispute occurred during a traffic at Battaramulla it has been reported .
