Colombo Public Health Department To File Court Cases Against 103 Premises In Colombo City For Breeding Dengue Mosquitoes


The Colombo Public Health Department has decided to file court cases against 103 Premises situated within the Colombo City which have identified as maintaining dengue mosquito breeding places  according to the Chief Medical Officer in Colombo Dr.Ruwan Wijemuni.These premises with dengue mosquito breeding places have been identified  during the first four days of National Mosquito Control Weak commenced on last Thursday(10).

Out of these 103 premises the Colombo Public Health Department has already filed court cases against 48 premises at the Maligakanda(In Colombo) Magistrate Court  and rest to follow during this week Dr.Wijemuni has said.

 Most of the dengue patients in Colombo are reporting from Borella and Eastern Colombo Areas he has stressed.

No Complaints Have Been Received On Ayurveda Massage Centers -Ayurveda Commissioner

Although new body massage centers(SPA)  opening  island wide like mushrooms by using the name "Ayurveda" illegally ,the Ayurveda Commissioner P.S.K,Weerakoon has said still no complaints have been received by him against  so called Ayurveda Massage Centers.

"If someone make a complaint on such massage centers using the name " Ayurveda" illegally the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Council can take a legal action against such centers as the local  Ayurvedic Doctors are not been granted permission to anyone for using the name 'Ayurveda" for massage centers the Ayurveda Commissioner has stated.

The Police have recently raided so many brothel houses situated in Colombo and Outstation Areas  running under the name ' Ayurveda Massage Centers " .

Meanwhile  All Ceylon Ayurveda Medical Officers Association has said their Association have taken steps to educate people that the body massage is not related anyway to Ayurveda .

Army Brigadier Deshapriya Gunawardene Who Ordered To Fire On Protesters In Rathupaswela Area Arrived The Country Amidst Protests

Sri Lankan Army Brigadier Deshapriya Gunawardene who allegedly ordered the troops in 2012 to fire on protesters at Rathupaswela in Weliweriya (In Western Province) Area who were demanding clean water had arrived Sri Lanka this evening.After he ordered the troops to fire on protesters three were killed and several others got injured due to the shooting.

Brigadier Gunawardene who were  rewarded by a position in Sri Lankan Embassy In Turkey by previous government of Former President Mahinda Rajapaksha after the Rathupaswela Shooting has arrived at Katunayake International Airport  this morning and left the airport under the protection of an Army Intelligence Officers.

A large number of residents from Rathupaswela Area where the protest was held in 2012 by demanding cleaning water were seen  protested in front of Katunayake Air Port by
calling authorities to arrest the Brigadier.

A Woman And Two Children Had Been Killed At Kosgoda Due To A Three Wheeler -Bus Collision

A woman and two children had been killed and another child was critically injured due to a Three Wheeler-Bus collision occurred today(15) at Kosgoda(In Southern Province) in Galle Road.Two men who were travelling in the three wheeler got minor injures due to the accident.

The critically injured child has been admitted to the Kalutara Hospital for further treatment.

According to the Police a Private Bus travelling from Colombo to Matara(In Southern Province) collided with the three wheeler at kosgoda which the victims of the accident were travelling  in .
