Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero Has Revealed A Planned Attack On Temples

As Police have suspected that an
attempt to attack a Temple may have behind the purchasing of Nine White blouse-skirt kits by three Burka clad females and a male from Giriulla Shop recently ,Venerable  Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero of Bodu Bala Sena Organization who is in remand has revealed last Monday(29) that  an extremists are  attempting  to attack around 50 Buddhist Temples During Wesak season .

Therefore he had requested authorities not to organize Wesak and Poson festivals until this extremism has  defeated completely .

He had made these remarks after attending a court case against him at Homagama Magistrate Court .Galagodaatte Theo has also requested the media personal to come to prison if they want to get more details on the issue .

Venarable Galagodaatte Thero who is the General secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena Organization has been remanded over defaming Sandya Eknaligoda the wife of missing cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligoda at the Homagama Magistrate Court premises .

Police Have Arrested A Follower Of Thowheeth Jamaath Organization Leader At Galle Prison

Police have arrested a Person believed
to be a follower of the banned National Thowheeth Jamaath Organization leader Mohommad Zahran Hashim ,who had arrived at Galle Prison to see few of his remanded relatives there yesterday(30).

Police have taken in to custody few posters with Thowheeth Jamaath leader Zahran's photographs and books written in Arabic language  stored in his Motorcycle during an inspection .

The relatives whom he came to see in Prison had been also remanded due to their relationship with Thowheeth Jamaath organization.

Two Indian Nationals Had Been Arrested Without Valid Visas

Welikada Police have arrested two
Indian Nationals who are staying in Sri Lanka illegally without valid visas at Welikada ,Rajagiriya yesterday(30) according to Police Media Spokesman's office.

The suspected Indian Nationals who are 28 and 32 years old are due to be produced before courts  .

Three Bangladeshi Nationals Had Been Arrested Along With Copper Lines And Wires At Haputhale

Haputhale Police have arrested three
Bangladeshi Nationals along with A Lorry they were travelling in and stocks of Copper lines and wires in poseession near the Army Road Block in Haputhale yesterday(30).

The suspects who are attached to a private company in Nawala ,Colombo  had been arrested as they do not possess   the original copies of visas issued to them it has been revealed.

They have arrived in Haputhale for a renovation work of Telecommuni cation posts suspects have told during the questioning. Suspected Bangladeshi Nationals are due to be produced before Bandarawela Magistrate Court.



Colombo Archbishop Returns The Bullet Proof Motor Car Sent To Him By Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe

Ranjith says he had returned a bullet proof Motor Car along with it's driver given for his protection by the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe .

Prime Minister Wikramasinghe had sent one out of two Bullet proof Motor Cars  procided  to him by the government  to Cardinal  for his safety yesterday .

However Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith has refused  to accept it by saying  god will protect him and  people in this country are the ones who need the security most at this time  .

If the authorities failed to do justice by bringing the culprits who were responsible regarding Easter Sunday bombings, People  will take the law in to their hands He says.

Addressing a Media briefing held in Colombo yesterday(29) Colombo Archbishop has stressed that ongoing investigations regarding the Easter Sunday massacre cannot be trusted .Even the three member committee appointed  by president to probe on the Easter sunday attacks is not successful he said

Meanwhile Archbishp has told the media today (30)whilst attending a  press Briefing In Colombo that the powers given to the Army are not sufficient to combat the Extremists who had launched Easter Sunday Attacks .

Most Wanted Lorry And A Van Regarding Easter Sunday And Kalmunai Attacks Had Recovered

Police have arrested three persons
along with the Lorry EPPX-2399 which believes to be used for Easter Sunday bombings at Sungawila ,Polonnaruwa (North Central Province) today (30).

The three suspects are due to be handed over to the Criminal Invetigations Department(CID)for further questioning .

Meanwhile A Van suspected as transported Persons and bombs to a safe house at "Seindumaridu'area in Kalmunai with the plate number 250-8650 had recovered whilst hiding in a house at Ihala puliyankulama ,Kakirawa and a person who is the owner of the van had been taken in to custody by the police..

The suspect is due to be handed over to "CID" after questioning.

A Motorcyclist Was Arrested Over Parking His Motorcycle And Making A Tense Situation Among Public

A tense situation had occurred due to
an Unattended suspicious Motorcycle which was parked near a shop at Thunkama town in Embilipitiya this morning (30) it has been reported.

After being informed by the residents in  the area ,Police officers attached to Kuttigala Police  have arrived at the scene and upon their request Army bomb defusal squad has made preparations to explode the Motorcycle without an owner.

However suddenly the owner of the Motorcycle had arrived in and Kuttigala Police have arrested him and taken in to custody his Motorcycle as well.

Security forces have earlier requested the Motorists to display  their name and contact details on the vehicle if they are parking the vehicle to go somewhere.

Defense Ministry has announced that a stern action will be taken against those who  are spreading rumors and becomes a threat to National Security.

Fifty Nine Suspects Including Nine Females Had Been Arrested Over Easter Sunday Bombings

Fifty nine suspects had been so far
arrested over the Easter Sunday bombings and currently being questioned  at Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Terrorism Investigations Division (TID)according to Police Media Spokesman Superintendent Of Police (SP)Ruwan Gunasekare.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo this evening (29)Police Media spokesman has stated that 44 out of the 59 suspects including 07 females are being questioned in CID and 15 suspects including 02 females are being questioned at TID.

CID had arrested most wanted female suspect of the Easter Sunday Bombings Fathima Lathifa who is the wife of one of the Easter sunday bombers at Mawanella during the weekend he has stressed.

A Lawyer Filed A Petition At Supreme Court Against Government Over Not Avoiding The Easter Sunday Bombings

Kodithuwakku who is under three year career ban has today (29)filed a Petition at Supreme Court in hulftsdorf ,Colombo by claiming Government has violated peoples Humanatarian rights through not avoiding the Easter Sunday bombings occurred in Colombo and Batticaloa although an intelligence unit report  received prior to the attacks.

In his petition Attorney At Law Kodithuwakku has named President Maithripala Sirisena ,Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasimghe ,Former Defense Secrerary Hemasiri  Fernando ,Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapalshe and director of the Tellecomunication Regulatory commission as the respondents of the case.

The petitioner has requested the Supreme Court to issue a warrent ordering the government to pay compansations to those who were killed and injured due to the bombings
He has  argued that the government can be punished under the penal code over not taking any action to prevent the Bombings .

Five Anti Aircraft Cartrdges And A Detornator Recovered From Welipanna

Police have recovered 05  eight inch
long Anti Aircraft Cartridges and a detonator at a Muslim Village in "Ramaya  "road ,Welipanna this morning   (29).

Special Police Task Force (STF) personal have defused the Anti Aircraft cartridges believes to be left there by someone.No one was arrested regarding the incident. 

These Carbridges  and Deternator had been recovered accordance to the information received by an Intelligence official in Western Province. 



Two Persons Attached To Extremist Group "Thawheeth Jamaath"Arrested In Armour Street

Two members of the Extremist Group
"National Thowheeth Jamaath" had been arrested with Five Foreign Passports ,12 Mobile Phones ,A stock of CD's containing ideologies of "Thawheeth Jamaath"group and other equipment in possession at a Flat in Armour street ,Colombo today (29)by the Armour Street police.

Police have also taken in to custody a Tab computer in possession of the suspects.The five passports recovered in possession of the suspects are belonging to two females and three males according to Police.

The raid had been carried out accordance to information received  by the police  regarding the suspects from the people in the area.

The chief suspect of the Easter Sunday bombings Mohommad Zahran Hashim had visited the flat where the suspects have  stayed in  few weeks ago it has been revealed  

Police Are Carrying Out Search Operations To Find Out Three Burka Clad Females And A Male Who Had Purchased White Cloths Prior To Easter Sunday Attacks

Police are carrying out investigations in
search of   the Three females and a male who had purchased 9 white Blouse and Skirt kits from a Cloth shop at Giriulla prior to the Easter Sunday attacks which killed more than 250 persons and the Van they have arrived in.

Out of the 09 Blouse- Skirt kits purchased from the shop 04 had been missing whilst 05 were recovered during a search operation carried out by forces at the safe house in Seindumaridu ,Kalmunai following the suicide bomb blasts occurred there .

According to CCTV camera footages of the Shop in Giriulla area where three women and a male had been seen purchasing White Blouse -Skirt kits by spending Rs..30,000 on 15 th of April ,the three females who purchased cloths worn Burkas covering their whole body and faces .

Police have suspected the white cloths may have been purchased to launch an  attack at a funeral of Easter Sunday bomb blast victim else at a Buddhist temple.

Curfew Re Imposed In Kalmunai,Chawalakade And Samanthurai Areas

Curfew again imposed in
Kalmunai,Chawalakade and Samanthurai areas (Eastern Province)from 6 p.m today(29)and will be lifted at 8 a.m tomorrow (30)according to Police.

Curfew was imposed in these areas since 5 p.m last evening (28)and has been lifted at 8 a.m this morning (29).This move has been taken to restore security in these areas following last friday's suicide bomb blasts occurred at a safe house in Seindumaridu,Kalmunai.

Due to the blasts and gun fire exchange between extremists belonging to Thowheeth Jamaath organization and Forces 15 extremists had been killed and two others had been injured and hospitalized .

The family members of the chief suspect of Easter Sunday attacks Mohommad Zahran Hashim were among those killled during the incidents .

Meanwhile it has been revealed that a group of around 15 who were killed due to suicide bomb explosions and gun fire exchange in Seindumaridu had arrived in Kalmunai from Ampara due to search operations carried out by government forces there.

However as the residents of the area have suspected their activities they have informed police regarding them which led to search operation carried out by forces in the safe house.

After learning that residents around had informed police on them the extremists had shouted at residents and told "We are fighting for you,But you were betrayed us".The extremists then thrown Rs.5000 notes towards the residents it has been revealed. 

President Has Sent IGP Pujith Jayasundara On Compulsory Leave And Appointed Senior Police DIG C.D Wikramaratne As Acting IGP

President Maithripala Sirisena has
today (29)sent Inspector General Of Police(IGP)Pujith Jayasundara on compulsory leave and appointed Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG)C.D Wikramaratne as the acting Inspector General Of Police(IGP).

President has sent IGP Jayasundara on compulsory leave as IGP has refused to resign from his post accordance the request made by president by taking responsibility of security lapses that led to Easter Sunday bombings.

President has informed Media heads during a meeting held last week in.Colombo that IGP Jayasundara may have resigned from his post on friday (26).However he has refused to resign and refrained from attending work last Saturday (27).

Meanwhile Former Army Commander Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka who is now a Parliamentarian representing Governaning United National Party(UNP) has told in Parliament last week that IGP is not alone tesponsible  for the security lapses as State Intelligence report on the Easter Sunday  attacks should have been received by President Sirisena as well if it was received by former Defense Secretary under him Hemasiri Fernando.

Former Defense Secretary had resigned from  his post last week following  president's request to do so.

Kottegoda has been today (29)appointed as the new Defense Ministry Secrerary by the President Maithripala Sirisena

He has been appoointed to the post following the resignation of
former Defense Secretary Hemasori Fernando.

New Defense Secretary Shantha Kottegoda has taken his letter of appointment from the President at a function held in President's office.

General Kottegoda was the seventeenth commander of the Sri Lanka Army .

Intelligence Officials Have Recovered Female Cloth Kits Purchased For Attacking Religious Places

State Intelligence Unit officials had
recovered five out of the nine white color skirt and blouses kits purchased by banned Thowheath Jamaath  organization to carry out a major attack targeting religious  places in the island by using females at the safe house in kalmunai area  raided by Forces last friiday(26).

The skirt and blouses kits had been purchased from a cloth shop in giriulla area it has been reported.

Forces are currently searching on  to find about the remaining   skirt and blouse kits which are missing from the house .


No Curfew Today(28) Except Three Areas

The curfew which has been imposed
for few hours daily throughout the island  since last Sunday(21)following the Easter Sunday attacks ,has not imposed today (28)due to the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in .

However Curfew imposed in Samanthurai ,Kalmunai and chawalakade areas will be continued until further notice .

Colombo Leader Of The Thowheeth Jamaath" Had Been Arrested

The Colombo leader of the National
Thowheeth Jamaath Organization Mohommad Pawas (38)had been arrested by the Keselwatta Police along with Intelligence officials of Western Province at a housing scheme in Keselwatta yesterday(27).

Police have taken in to custody posters of Jamaath organization,Pendrives containing preaches of the Organization and Videos in possession of the suspect.

The raid was carriedout accordance to the information received from State Intelligence Unit .



Ten Persons Arrested With Cartridges ,Swords And Foreign Suits In Possession

Police have arrested 10 persons with a
suit similar to a foreign army suit 04 swords,08 burning religious books and 107  cartridges during a search operation carried out at houses in Yonakapura,Dikwella area(Southern Province) this morning(28).

Dilwella Police have carried out this search operation around 800 houses it has been revealed.

A Scooter Used By Suicide Bomber Who Attacked Zion Church ,Batticaloa Had Been Recovered

One of the two Motorcycles used by the
Suicide Bomber who had exploded himself at Zion Catholic church in Batticaloa last Sunday (21)to arrived at the church , "A scooter"had been recovered whilst hiding it at a house in the Muslim Village in Junaid  road,Thihariya area today(28) by Three Police Teams.

The Scooter along with it's nunber plate which cut in to 36 pieces were hidden inside the house Police have revealed.

Nittambuwa Police ,Nittambuwa Police Official Dog Unit and Gampaha Police teams have recovered the Scooter during a joint search operation carried out in Thihariya area today.

Most Of The Family Members Of Chief Suspect Of Easter Sunday Attacks Mohommad Zahran Believes To Be Among Those Killed At seimdumaridu Shooting -His Wife And Daughter Had been Rescued And Hospitalized By Forces

Police have today (28)confirmed that
two brothers and the father of Chief suspect of the Easter sunday bomb attacks and leader of Thowheeth Jamaath organization Mohommad Zahran Hashim were among those killed during gun shooting incident between security forces and a group of extremists near a safe house at Seindumaridu,Kalmunai on last friday night(26).

Zahran's wife fathima sadia and his small daughter Mohommad Zahran Ruseina had been critically injured due to three suicide blasts Occured in the house when security forces have attempted to search the house .Both of them had been admitted to Ampara General Hospital by security forces it has been confirmed.

Altogether 15 persons in the safe house had been killed due to three suicide blasts occurred in the house including six men three females and six children it has been reported.Most of them believes to be  members of Zahran's family and forces suspect his mother and sister in laws too may have among these victims .

indefinite Curfew Imposed In Kalmunai And Samanthurai Areas Has Been Lifted-Due To Be Re Imposed From 5 P.M This Evening (28)

The indefinite Curfew imposed in Kalmunai and Samanthurai areas last Friday (26)following the suicide bombings  has been lifted at 10 A.M this morning (28) and will be re imposed at 5 P.M this evening until further notice the Police Media Spokesman's Office has announced.

Earlier Police have announced an indefinite Curfew in these areas since last Friday night .The situation in these areas brought under control the Police have stated.

Police Curfew Imposed From 10 P.M Last Night(27)Until 4 A.M This Morning(28)-Curfew Remains In Kalmunai And Samanthurai

from 10.p.m last night has been lifted at 4 a.m today(28)except Kalmunai and Samanthurai areas where police curfew has been imposed since last friday night(26) until further notice.

Police curfew has been imposed in Kalmunai and Samanthurai   areas until further notice after three suicide  bomb explosions occurred at a house in seindumaridu in Kalmunai and recovering of suicide bomb kits and explosives from a house at Samanthurai .

Security is being tightened in these areas.

Meanwhile Police Media Spokesman's office has yesterday(27) announced that no one in Armed forces hurt or killed during the gun shot exchange between forces and extremists at seindamaridu area as stated by podu jana peramuna MP during a political programme televised through a private T.V channel here last friday .The  MP has stated around 11 Armed forces members had been killed due to the incident.

Head Priest Of Muslim Mosque In Slave Island And Municipal Council MP Arrested Over Keeping 47 Swords In A Mosque Handed Over To Colombo Crimes Division

in Slave Island Maulawi Mohommad Fahim and United National Party(UNP)MP of Colombo Municipal Council Mohommad Thajudeen who had been arrested by the Slave Island police over keeping 47 swords in the Mosque have been handed over to Colombo Crimes Division (CCD)yesterday (27)for further questioning.

The Maulawi of Slave Island Mosque had been arrested by the Police last friday evening(26) whilst keeping 47 swords under his bed during a search operation carried out there.

A suicide bomb kit and uniforms similar to that of Army uniforms had been also taken in to custody during the raid.

Police have arrested the UNP Municipal council MP Thajudeen yesterday over assisting the Mosque to purchase swords.The MP whomis the treassurer of Muslim Mosque Confederation has 10 Mosques under him.

As Field Marshal Fonseka is the only MP of the government who is an expert on defense he should be given the Ministerial portfolio the letter has pointed out.

Deputy Mayor Of Negambo Had Been Arrested With Sharp Objects And Mobile Batteries In Possession

Airforce personal  have
yesterday(27)arrested the Deputy Mayor  of Negambo Mohommad  Asran with sharp objects and a stock of mobile phone batteries in his possession at his house in Periyamulla,Negambo.

Accordingly a sword,few knives and 38 mobile phone batteries have been taken into custody in his possession .

Security forces have recovered two
parcels contains around 03 Kilo Grammes of powerful explosives and uniforms wore by the eight suicide bombers who had  involved in suicide bombings at three churches and four  hotels on easter sunday(21) from house at Samanthurai area(Eastern Province)during a raid carried out there.

Forces have found the ISIS Banner displayed in the background of a video released showing eight suicide bombers made a pledge before easter sunday attacks .The house has been identified as the place that used for that video according to police.

Around 04 Houses believes to be used as residencies by suicide bombers have been recovered  in Samanthurai area  Police Media Spokesman's Office says.

Forces have taken in to custody a vehicle not registered parked  near the house it has been revealed.



A Person With 49 Knives Had Been Taken Into Custody From A Mosque In Maskeliya

Maskeliya Police have arrested a store
keeper of the Anafi Jumma Mosque at Maskkeliya this morning (27)in possession of 49 knives and two  axes during a search operation carried out in the Mosque.

As the store keeper of the Mosque was unable to explain the  reason behind storing these sharpen objects in the Mosque ,Police have arrested him it has been revealed.

The knives taken in to custody by the police are 9 to 12 inch long according to Police..

The Mosque is being displayed a banner conveying it's condolences regarding the Easter Sunday bombings it has been reported. 

An Indian National Had Been Arrested Whilst Stationing A Drone Camera

Meetiyagoda Police have arrested an Indian National who had stationed a drone camera in the space whilst travelling from Seenigama to Hikkaduwa(Southern Province) from a Motor Car today(27) despite the ban imposed on stationing of Drone cameras in the country.

The suspected Indian national who had arrived in sri lanka on 16 th of April and residing in a Tourist Hotel at Hikkaduwa had attempted to station a drone camera and police have arrested him after being informed by the residents of the area.

The 53 year old suspect Mohammad sharif  Adamlebbe has been handed over to the Criminal Investigations department.(CID)for further action

Two Organizations Responsible For Easter Sunday Bimbings Had Been Banned By The President

Two local extremist organizations
jihadist "National Thawheeth Jamaath"(NTJ)and splinter group 'Jamaathei Millathu Ibrahim Fee Seilani"(JMI) found as responsible for Easter Sunday attacks had been banned by the President Maithripala Sirisena under the Emergancy Regulations according to President's Media Division.

Accordingly movable immovable Properties and activities of these organization's will be banned in Sri Lankan soil it has been revealed.

Those who are in touch with these organizations also can be detained under the ban.
