Six Corona Positives Discharged From Hospitals On Monday (17)

A total of 06 Corona positives had been
discharged from hospitals on  Monday(17)after full recovery according to Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals so far after full recovery had been increased to 2676 .Last Sunday another 04 Corona positives had been discharged from hospitals after recovery. 

Seven Corona Positives Reported Today (17)

A total of 07 Corona Positives Had been
reported in the island today  (17) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far here to 2900 according to Epidemeology Unit. 

Accordingly a total of 05 Arrivals from United Arab Emirates and 02 Arrivals from  Oman had tested positive for Corona virus  today . 

At the moment a total of 213 Corona positives are being treated In 'Government Hospitals. 

Country Was In Total Blackout For Hours Due To A Power Failure- Water Supply Too Stopped As A Result

Industries and businesses in the
country were affected and public had faced enormous  difficulties due to a sudden island wide power and water failure occurred this noon  (17) .

The island wide power failure which lasts around 07 hours from 12.30 p.m to 7.35 p.m had Occured as a result of a technical fault of the National electricity transmission grid the Ceylon Electricity Board  (CEB) has stated. 

Natuon wide power failure was soon followed by water supply  break
 down  as there's no electricity to pump water according to National Water supplies and drainage board . 

As a result of the long hour power failure signal boards on the roads had stopped working and there's a heavy traffic reported from main roads in the contry due to this. 

Minister of Power and Energy Dallas Alahapperuma had announced this evening that the power will be restored in the country within 2 hours, However  it takes another additional two hours to restoring the 75 percent of the country's total power supply the Electricity Board has stated. 

Meanwhile Power Minister Dallas Alahapperuma has ordered the Secretary on the Ministry of Power to investigate on the sudden power failure .
