Public Utilities Commission Had Given Permission To Electricity Board To Impose Power Cuts

 Public Utilities Commission  had given permission to Ceylon Electricity Board t(CEB)o impose power cuts as required with effect from tomorrow (10) it has been announced .

This permission was given by the commission after considering a petition submitted by the Ceylon Electricity Board seeking permission to impose island wide power cuts   due to the fuel shortage faced by the Board and breaking down of a machine at Norochchalai Power plant the CEB has stated .

However CEB has decided to impose Island wide power cuts when a need arise it has been announced.

 The popular veteran Sri Lankan Pop  singer also known as the "King of Baila " songs in the country "Desmond De Silva had died today (09) due to a sudden heart attack he had suffered with in Melbourne ,Australia .

He was 77 years old at the time of his death ,He had sung many hit Pop singles during his 4 decade old career including popular local hits like "Chuda Manike " and "Yaman Bando" songs. May his soul rest in peace ,

436 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (09) -Epidemiology Unit

 Whilst Director General Of Health Services had announced a lower number of Corona  deaths today(09) .The epidemiology Unit has stated that only 436 Corona Positives  had been identified  in the country today (09) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 591,667 .

At the moment 9471 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stressed ,

Meanwhile only 141 Corona Positives had recovered and discharged from Hospitals and Quarantine Centers today increasing the total number of Corona positives recovered and discharged so far to 567,077 it has been raveled .

Only 7221 PCR tests and 4305 Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed in the country yesterday (08).

07 Corona Deaths Reported Today (09)- DGHS Said -Many Seems To Be Not believe in The Numbers Given By The Health Authorities

 Another 07 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (09) Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) has announced today .With these deaths the total number of Corona deaths that had been reported in the country had risen to 15,121 he has stressed ,

According to DGHS 04 males and 03 females had died due to Corona infection .Out of the deceased 06 were over 60 years of age and one death was belonged to 30-60 year age group .

However as  contagious Omicron variant is spreading in the country along with the Delta variant many in the public do not believe these number s as health authorities in the country  not done anything significant  to curb the spreading oi Corona virus recently  according to some Health experts ,The Corona death rate of  the country currently stands as 2.56 percent higher than the neighboring India and global Corona death rate according to the health experts .
