Parliament Adjourned Until 05th Of December

Parliament  Adjourned until 10.30
a.m on 05th of December by the speaker Karu Jayasuriya today  (30).

Parliament has convened today without the participation of Minority government MP's .

Minority government MP's who had boycotted today's parliamentary sessions  conducted a press briefing at Parliamentary Complex. 

A Proposal TO Cut Off Expenditure Of Government Ministries Has Been Passed By 122 Votes

A proposal submitted to the Parliament
today  (30)to cut off the expenditure of Government Ministries including expenditure for Minister's, Deputy Minister's, State Ministers ,Newly appointed Ministry secretsries and their personal staff has been passed with a majority of 122 votes .

MP Champika Ranawake of United National Front (UNF)has submitted the proposal to the Parliament this morning and MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara has confirmed it .MP's of minority government had boycotted today's parliamentary sessions as well.

MP's representing UNF,JVP, and TNA  had been voted in favour of the proposal .

Parliamentary session for today begun at 10.30 a.m under the patronage of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

Imrprisoned Chief Of Defense Staff Had Been Transferred To Welikada Prison

The Chief of Defense Staff Rear Admiral
 Ravindra Wijegunaratna who has been remanded  yesterday  (28)has been transferred to Welikada Prison from Magazine prison in.Colombo .


The Chief of Defense Staff who was arrested after surrendering to the colombo Fort Magistrate through a  lawyer last evening had been arrested and remanded over given  protection to former Lieutinent Commander Prasad Hettiarachchi who is in remand over abduction and disappearance of 11 youth in.Colombo .

A Motorcyclist Had Been Killed Due To A Road Accident

A 32 year old Motorcyclist had been
killed after the Motorcycle he was riding in veering off the road and colliding with a nearby building at Delgaha Junction in Gurusinhagoda road ,Baddegama (Galle) this morning (29).

The deceased who was a chef in profession was on the way home after preparing meals for a party held  in Gurusinhagoda area last night it has been revealed .

The incident occurred due to a high speed of the Motorcycle according to Baddegama Police .

Two Persons Had Been Arrested With 1.905 Kilo Grammes Of Cannabis

Vavuniya Police have arrested two
persons whilst transporting 1.905 Kilo Grammes of Cannabis in a Bus travelling to Trincomalee near Thandikulam Junction on A-9 road ,Vavuniya in wee hours of this morning (29).

The suspects are 21 and 28 year old residents of Vijithapura, Kekirawa .A legal action is due to take against them.

Vavuniya Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Arjun Aloysius And Kasun Palisena Had Been Further Remanded Over Central Bank Bond Scam

The owner of the Perpetual Treasuries
Limited Arjun Aloysius and Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena who are in remand over the Central Bank Bond Scam had been further remanded until 04th of December by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today (29).

The two suspects who have been remanded under the public properties act were further remanded after producing  before the court today .

TNA Has Informed President Sirisena, It Will Support A Government Lead By United National Front

Tamil National Alliance (TNA)has today
(29)informed the Prevident Maithripala Sirisena through a letter  ,it will support a government lead by United National Front (UNF) as UNF has the majority of support in Parliament.

In the letter TNA has stated the party has made this decision as the no confidence motion submitted against appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe has been passed in the parliament with a majority of votes.

The letter sent to the President was signed by 14 TNA MP's including their leader and  opposition Leader R.Sambandan.

Meanwhile  TNA And UNP Leaders are due to meet President Maithripala Sirisena tomorrow (30)evening at Presidential Secretariet separately and hold discussions over the current political crisis .However Leftist Janatha  Wimukthi Peramuna  (JVP)has told in Parliament today (29 )the party will never negotiate with President as he has violated the Constitution severely.

A proposal submitted by the United
National Party (UNP)to cut off the expenditure for Prime Minister's office has been passed  in Parliament today (29)by a majority of 123 votes.

Accordingly 123 MP"s have voted in favour of the proposal whilst no one  voted against it as the minority government MP's lead by Appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe had boycotted today's parliamentary sessions for the second time of the week.

Parliament has convened this morning at 10.30 a.m under the patronage of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

UNP Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake has submitted the proposal to Parliament today and another UNP Parliamentarian Navin Dissanayake has confirmed the proposal .

The vote was conducted half through an electronic system and other half by name .

Only the Minister Of Education in minority Government WijeDasa Rajapakshe who has crossed over to the minority government from UNP Has seated in Government Bench during today's sessions .He has made a statement urging the need to hand over the government to the faction that has majority of support in Parliament.

The MP who had crossed over to the minority government and UNP time to time UNP Parliamentarian  Wasantha Senanayake has today voted in favour of the proposal.

Parliament has adjourned until 10.30 a. M tomorrow (30)by the speaker Karu Jayasuriya .

Meanwhile it has been reported that minority government MP's had a meeting at Parliament canteen during today's Parliament session.

President Has Agreed To Hold Further Discussions With UNF Leaders And Opposotion Leader To Find Solution For The Current Political Crisis-Speaker's Media Unit

President Maithripala Sirisena has
agreed to hold further discussions with United National Front  (UNF) Leaders and the opposition Leader R.Sambandan separately tomorrow ( 30) to find out a speedy solution for the current political conflict in the country ,During a meeting held between Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and President Maithripala Sirisena at Presidential Secretariet this evening(29)according to Speaker's Media Unit  .

Both the speaker and the President have discussed on the political conflict occurred in Parliament widely during the meeting  and accordingly speaker Jayasuriya has told the President Sirisena that after several leaders and factions have expressing   in parliament today a  speedy solution should be found for the current political  chaos in the country he has decided to meet president to discuss on the issue.

Speaker has shown that due to the uncertain political enviornment in the country several sectors including investment sector and tourism industry are in turmoil. Rupee is depreciating against the US Dollar further he has told  .




Three Passangers Had Been Killed And Twenty Injured Due To A Road Accident In Naththandiya

Three female  Passangers  Had been killed and around Twenty
 Passangers injured and hospitalized after the luxury bus they were travelling in from Jaffna to Colombo had veering off the road and toppled over to the Hamilton Canal in Walahapitiya ,Naththandiya area on Negambo -Chilaw road  this evening  (29).

The injured had been admitted to Marawila Base Hospital for treatment and the number of dead and injured Passangers may  be higher than the number that have been reported according to Marawila Police .Around 30-40 Passangers were travelling in the bus at the time of the incident according to reports.

The deceased were residents of Jaffna Police have stated.

The incident occurred due to the driver's inability to control the speed of the vehicle it has been revealed .

Marawila Police are conducting further investigations to find out the missing.
