4000 metric Tons Of Hidden Sugar Recovered From Two Areas

The officers attached to Essential services Commissioner General's Office and Consumer Affairs Authority had today (08) raided four stores in Paliyagoda and Mabola in Wattala areas and taken in to custody a stock of 4000 metric tons of Sugar hidden there according to sources ,

Accordingly the officers had taken into custody 3100 Metric tons of Sugar hidden in two stores at Paliyagoda area and another 900 metric tons of sugar hidden at the store in Mabola ,Wattala areas ,All the stored raided are registered ones and authorities have decided to take legal action against the owners of these stores ,

2917 Corona Positives Had Beeb Reported Today (08)

Another 2917 Corona Positives had been identified today (08) increasing the total number of Corona positives identified in the country so far to 474,780 according to Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 74,122 Corona positives are being treated at Government /Private hospitals /Quarantine Centers and under home care service it has been revealed .

Meanwhile less then 20,000 PCR and Rapid Antigen Tests Performed in the country yesterday (07) according to Health sources ,

185 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (08)

Another 185 Corona deaths had been reported in the island today (08) increasing the total number of Corona deaths that had been reported so far to 10.689 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) .

Accordingly 122 males and 63 females had died due to Corona infection DGHS has stated ,

Out of the deceased 140 were over 60 years of age and 44 were belonged to the age group 30-60 years it has been revealed ,One of the deceased was under 30 years of age it has been revealed .
